b4.1.1 changelog- Working with August 27th (17th Birthday) update
#88, I'll move it back to the main branch tomorrow
edit: now on main branch
Some of you might have seen Arie's post about the medic info not working at i49 and that we were working on it. You then would have seen that it never happened.
On Thursday, with help from atmo, we had a custom version that was looking like this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/9z8zt1ihltghg5z/i49_med.png
When it was copied to the streaming computer, the fancy background worked, but the text wasn't there. We tried the public version that uses Arial, thinking it was a font problem, no joy. We maybe could have fixed it by updating DirectX or something similar, but that would mean cutting the stream and potentially breaking OBS.
I feel like it'll have to be left as a strange, only-at-LAN type of issue, but if anyone else has used it and sees the grey background, but no text, let me know.
Other than that, I'm taking a small break from this to revive another project, and I hope I can post progress on it sometime soon :D
gg, see you next year america
#724
what are you even talking about
10am BST, so 9 hours 30 mins
Unlikely to be earlier, may be slightly later. That's how lan works unfortunately
Stream restarted so it might not be there for a bit.
Out of their control anyway
Yes, no official casts were planned
<3 everyone keeping the page updated, thanks so much!
They are meant to be publicly available but aren't working.
This isn't hard to understand.
^ unnecessary seeing as the plugin loads correctly. Recommended place for plugins is the custom folder anyway.
conductorI don't know if this is a vtv decision or a multiplay decision but I really dislike that there's no stvs, if you want to watch one of the other matches that isn't on stream you're kinda screwed
All on Multiplay afaik, either intentional or an error they haven't fixed. confirmed error
And the minor problems are to be expected when casting from LAN. I can assure you all that everyone here is working hard to fix anything that goes wrong, and to put on the best iseries coverage to date.
And as I say that, brb gonna go tinker with Lange
Stickies
I had a version a while back that let you see stickies through walls like this. I thought SR stickies used a different type of outline so didn't look into it; they don't, so it could probably be added too.
The problem is this:
STV doesn't tell you where all stickies are at all times, they pop in and out like in normal gameplay or pov demos. So depending on where you're standing, one second they can be in view, then moving an inch to the side makes them disappear. On the other hand, you can place a sticky on spire, and see it through the wall from the steps at choke. That kind of inconsistency made me reluctant to include it.
I guess I should bring it back for people that want it, at the very least it might help casters have to look for them a little less. Just not sure having them potentially popping in and out on stream would look all that good.
Health bars
I do want to do this, just haven't got around to figuring out drawing on screen based on player position. There's a few code examples around, just need to take some time out to understand it. Toggle-able name tags aren't in for the same reason.
And since it was briefly mentioned above, I think STV does send ammo count. I need to actually check and see if it isn't just set to 0 or something silly, but hopefully it's there.
Looks ugly for streams right now, imo.
Arie from VanillaTV tried it out when they covered the Dignitas cup: http://www.twitch.tv/readyuptv/c/2768321 7 mins in.
At 720p it looks ok, but downscaled to 480p or lower and it gets way harder to read.
b4.1 changelog- Fixed outlines not enabling/disabling correctly in some situations
whoops
You want to open the whatever_dir.vpk files in GCFScape, though I don't know which one has the decals. They're in the common/Team Fortress 2/tf folder.
Also double check you're on the latest version, in case you haven't updated the program in a long time.
