if you're watching demos to actually learn how to play intelligently, you should watch stvs. It's pretty crucial to understand certain decision making based on numbers (or certain classes) and ubers. I would personally only watch povs to see how they aim and to analyze their mechanics specifically.

glassthis thread was about the jarate for a while
It transitioned so quickly because everybody knows the jarate should be banned
:)

The crossbow still saw usage before it got buffed. The tradeoff between the long distance heals and the ability to defend yourself with needles honestly played out fine. The passive reload and uber building is a little bit ridiculous.
To be fair - I only have this opinion so that bad medics will never be tempted to take out the xbow and just end up not healing anything. But the degree of distinction between their viability is kind of silly. It wasn't that bad the way it was originally.
it got usage, but i meant it shouldve always been used exclusively still (like it is now), despite not being as strong as it is now. those things are actually pretty stupid though, as you said, and it should honestly just be how it used to be...LIKE A LOT OF CHANGES IN THIS GAME.
mmrarkteyea its fun to shoot arrows at ppl because its fuckin broken
theres z e r o reason why a soldier can get healed 150 from across the map because a med got lucky and hit a mid air arrow
you're suggesting that if somebody hits an airshot it's just "lucky" and unfair. while that could entirely be the case, that's not really an issue, or at least you shouldn't find it to be one in my opinion. most of the time, it's not luck if the medic actually has good arrows. however, even if they hit a lucky arrow, it's the same thing as hitting a lucky airshot. the true problem with crossbows is what pelt explained; standing still for arrows a foot from your medic is quite unfair--being able to "lose" a pocket vs pocket 1v1 and just leave and get rehealed in an instant.
unfortunately, i'm sure if valve ever touches this weapon (in the next 5 years kek) they will make a ridiculously stupid decision, rendering it useless.
LegendaryRQAYou're an idiot...
Can You Elaborate . . .
mmrarkteOn the topic of banning things
Can we ban the crossbow until there's a single downside to using it over needles
i don't disagree that the crossbow is pretty retarded now, but even when people were using needles over the crossbow, there was still no true reason to use it over the crossbow. you could have always healed your teammates (some patches it healed less, but it was still good). despite being better than the needles, i don't really see a reason to ban it, because it only adds more entertainment to medic (while also helping soldiers more than any other class get healed up quickly).
a decent change would be to make it not build uber FASTER than the medigun. there really doesn't need to be an explanation as to why arrow building shouldn't be a thing.
as far as the healing goes, it was honestly a really cool concept to add to medic, but the way it's played out is a bit stupid. hitting arrows on your teammates in a fight to win your team a push/round is pretty clutch. that should never be changed. however, the fact that you can just hide behind a wall and stand still for an arrow is pretty retarded. it would be an interesting idea if arrows did less healing the longer a teammate were standing still. i don't think anything in that sense really needs to be changed though, because again, for one reason, when you think about it, soldiers indirectly get nerfed (especially on mid fights).
AS FAR AS JARATE GOES,
i seriously don't understand why it's allowed. it's literally free damage, because it's INCREDIBLY easy to hit a jarate. consequently, it's not fun to play against, and it's not even fun to use.
i just want to use my smg...................
HiipFirecorsaIt would really make more sense to include maps that actually have a lot of potential (and the mapmakers are constantly wanting and listening to feedback).as I posted before, the mappool is probably gonna change between weeks
There are actually quite a few from the looks of the Maps subsection (that, for some reason, rarely get played for feedback even though they'd probably all be better than reckoner or granary with time). Cardinal is a good start.
Whether or not the map pool is going to change each week is irrelevant. Every map every week should be a quality up-and-coming map, as that is the stated goal of these sundays. A few of these current maps do not meet the objective of this event.
The fact that cardinal isn't in the first week and priderock IS in the rotation shows that the people making the map decisions (part of the community along with admins' approval) should not continue doing so if you want this to actually be useful.
