That happened one time. That person that we actually "helped" was someone who is active in the actual competitive tf2 community.

Since then, there have been several people, completely random people who have come here for help, who no one knows, and if it weren't for their misfortune of getting scammed, they never would have made an account and posted here.

Therefore, those people usually get trolled, minus fragged, and laughed at.

Just telling you how it is from the inside looking out, and how this is going to turn out for you.

I'm sorry you got scammed, that really sucks, but this isn't really the place for it, and there honestly isn't much we can do even if we wanted to. The incident you refer to where we helped Roody, I think we might have actually gotten lucky because the guy who scammed him was stupid enough to use his actual steam account, which had enough information on it to find out how to contact him. It sounds like you got scammed by someone on an alt and you happened to think it seemed legit.

Honestly, this has always been something that makes me very curious. Can anyone give some insight as to why damage spread exists? Is it at all reasonable to expect that someday valve would remove damage spread?

I edited my post a bit. Sorry. but check out the last paragraph. Also, you should definitely use raw input; not having that on could explain why this issue is unique to tf2. Raw input increases the chance that nothing undesired is interfering with your mouse input.

Well I assume you've ensured mouse accel is OFF but are you 10000% sure?

Check:
-control panel - hardware - mouse - pointer options - enhance pointer precision is OFF
-your mouse driver software has no accel/prediction settings enabled
-and of course your in game settings, to be extra certain, see the following commands

I assume you're using the mouse that you state in your profile - the deathadder. This mouse has no built in accel that I know of. Check to ensure that you sensor/eye has no dust or other objects inside, use a bright light to really check inside there.

Another thing you can check for, are phantom devices. Sometimes when you unplug and plug in usb devices, windows creates a duplicate driver setting for that device. After a while, you can have dozens of these "phantom" devices that could interfere with usb input. Below is a link to a webpage that has an easy guide to fixing this.

Everyone heard about that crazy train derailment in Quebec right? I know that commercial planes crashing is super rare, and it's a big deal, but the train accident was like, really bad.

The weird thing, is that I never heard it on the mainstream news yesterday. I watched a lot of the coverage about the plane crash, but not once was the train incident even mentioned, I don't get it :S

I learned what I know about huds from all kinds of sources, but I got started with flames guide. After reading it and referring to it countless times, I eventually learned the rest from trial and error.

But to op: you may have a hard time finding someone to help you with all that stuff. I recommend familiarizing yourself with the guides omni and I posted, and trying stuff out on your own. You'll absorb the knowledge much better this way, and you can always ask [less broad] questions as you go along. Either route you choose, it won't take you long to realize how complicated making and editing huds can be, at least until you've spent a good amount of time working with them. But imo, it's easier to teach yourself a lot of this stuff rather than listening to someone else try to teach you.

Alt-tabbing with fullscreen is virtually instantaneous, has been for over a year now probably? The only unique/advantageous option that windowed mode provides, is when you alt-tab it doesn't minimize tf2.

One of the cons of windowed mode, slightly mentioned by #8, is windows aero extensions. If you don't have desktop composition disabled, and windows aero disabled in your in-game tf2 options, then you will likely experience a loss of performance and worst of all - input lag - in windowed mode.

Do you think a higher lerp has a negative effect on back stabs? Since you can't have weapon specific Interps anymore... but, iirc, melee is hit scan right?

Same thing here. Sizzling stats just will not work. Any ideas anyone?
