All I remember about this dude is he has really good DM. Scary good.
wareyait's also one inch
while being 1/16th of a foot
hammer doesn't use standard imperial units
So it's safe to say that ~40 hammer units is roughly one meter?
So I just defragged my computer, rebooted, and when steam tried to boot itself up, it returned a popup message saying there was an error, and that to turn off compatibility settings for steam.exe to run.
So I went to my steam folder, and turned off compatibility mode for steam, and voila, no problem.
I wanted to find out why this suddenly happened. I did some research using google, and I found forums and discussions regarding this issue.
One thing I noticed was that all the answers to the questions people were asking about this problem, involved editing the registry. Which I think is very unnecessary.
None of the discussions I found gave any answer as to what causes this issue to happen. That's what I want to know, because if this is going to happen again, I'd rather fix the source of the problem to prevent this.
I still see several people complaining about Metalworks. After this season, I don't think it's that bad at all. After my team really learned the map and practiced it, we felt very comfortable with it. It reminds me of when Process first came around and it was awkward for a lot of people, and iirc I noticed a lot of people complaining about it; but, now, it's a great and popular map and mostly everyone seems to enjoy it. I'm not trying to argue that Metalworks is objectively as good as Process, but it's not that bad of a map at all, and I kind of like it.
KanecoI usually do this by going through the recent activity on my profile, but it doesn't hurt to have more options.
The recent activity in your profile only showed your post history up to a certain post length, which was pretty short. This new feature shows your entire post history.
OCTANE every server of that provider has this issue
ahhhhh okay. That's one reason I was wanting to know your server provider.
That sucks man, sorry I can't be of much help at this point. Maybe it's time to switch providers?
Good luck.
OCTANEso my go-to guy isn't responding, i tried reinstalling sm+mm but that didn't help, any other suggestions?
Is your server a Windows or Linux server?
If you're not sure, here's a way to check. In your root folder in ftp, there will either be a .exe (Windows) or a .so (for Linux.) I'm actually not 100% sure if the .so means it is Linux, so don't quote me on that. But if you don't see a .exe anywhere, it's very likely that it is Linux. I took a screenshot just to make it easy to see what I'm talking about.

So, once you figure out if it's Linux or Windows, make sure that you installed the right version(s) of SM and MM. You probably should do a clean install, as in delete everything SM and MM related, and reinstall. I'm not calling you stupid, but just make sure that you are indeed installing everything in all the right places, make sure you're installing the right version for your servers OS, and make sure you're installing the latest snapshot of the mods.
About two years ago, just a few months after I first installed tf2, I was playing medic in a Badwater pub. 2c aka tehoreoz aka craig joined and started playing soldier. He told me follow him. I had never seen anyone kill so many things, and at the same time keep me from dying. At that time I thought heavy was the best class and that I should always follow heavies around. He then told me that he played "competitive" tf2 and that prompted me to go find out what that was all about.
KAMOYou can just "rcon quit" to restart the server, no need to have the admin do it.
Sometimes, to properly re-install sourcemod/metamod, you need to fully stop the server first, re-install, and the start it back up. This is why being able to have a web server control panel is nice.
Octane, is it possible that your server does have a web server, but you just don't have/know the info to it? Maybe you could ask your server admin/provider to hook you up.
SBARROHOTTOPICCrespi can you ever answer a question without sounding like a dick
Why does it make me a dick to try and ask someone to help me help them.
What #4 said is basic stuff, but about updating sourcemod, you can do that a lot more easily via your web control panel. For example, if you have an nfo server, it has an easy to use interface that you can upgrade/reinstall sourcemod with. Although, in my experience, I've never seen sourcemod prevent doors from opening. Sourcemod doesn't really do stuff like that.
Anyway, I even went to the OP's profile to see if their were past posts that would give me more info about what kind of server he had, but there was none.
Hopefully you guys can decipher the problem, now that he uploaded a video to show you the complexity of the broken door bug. But I guess I'm the only person on this forum to ever be confused by someone who doesn't speak or write the best English, and to ask for a little clarification, and boy is that a dick thing to do.
Good luck Octane.
What?
When you say "our servers," who are you talking about?
What server are you talking about?
Do you host servers?
Do you own a server?
If yes then....well this is just very vague.
More info please.
There really should be a cvar, of which you can assign a +command to a key, and while that key is pressed you are immune to jumping with your demo it soldier. Or something like that. What hooli said, that would be huge.
manacrespiHas anyone tried using the tf_hud_show_servertimelimit 1 command yet? I can't get it to display on my hud (broeselhud) so I'm guessing that my hud needs to be updated/modified to show this?rays edited it in; I'm not a HUD editor but he showed the whole process on stream and it looked relatively simple. His newest version has it in. I think the exact name is something akin to "ServerTimeLimitLabel" or something along those lines.
My hud is packed into a vpk if that makes any difference.
Thanks mana!
Hellbent is cool but he's terrible at rocket jumping.
No but Srsly he's cool. Funny dude. Fun to play with.
