Sounds like a routing issue, they might be sending you through a really weird hop. contact yr isp. Send them a tracert and as much info about your connection as you can

For the tracert, do this:
windows key + r

the position is a lab position offered by a professor. mostly I'm going to be doing basic stuff like viable counts or cultures or prepping PCR. I wanna learn more about brewing so i dont sound like an idiot when anyone starts talking to me about the stuff outside of my actual job. they aren't expecting me to be able to run a brewery.
