I can tell Cadsmar just bandwagons on the nzr0 hal_9000 fan club and aliases as them, but maybe take some actual inspiration from their frag vids and not make this kind of drivel.
If you edit something from just the plain first person view there actually needs to be a purpose for it. These transitions and effects (*flowers*) do not add anything at all. It's not highlighting the frags or enhancing the experience for the viewer, I just feel like I'm watching windows media player visualizations to the music.
When you don't have experience you can't just shoot for top quality frag videos. Keep it small and simple and actually put time to it. Don't just sit down and try every effect vegas has to offer.
despite the fact that most pubbers have no clue what they're doing I think in 5 years everyone's worked out how the classes are meant to be played in this game, and the playstyles don't honestly deviate that much when transferred to HL
i play quake 3 because cpma is amazing and i dont have to pay to GO PRO
the first xhair i made up today, the circle changes to blue/red when you get buffed or hurt, and the whole thing flashes green when you damage someone

second one I mostly use on scout, the dot is actually a green square inside a white circle w/ a black outline
I remember an update that caused my game to be phongless before they patched it out and I really liked it. I just assumed the skins don't work on sv_pure servers so I didn't bother downloading the pack.
It's so high pitch because you set your min value to 200. You never actually do 200 damage really, so it always made a sound higher than that. If you want to add pitch to it and have decent sound range do something like
tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg "45"
tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg "100"
dellortI don't get it, does the blue soldier have to hit both cows before getting killed?
sounds like you got it
I really like the idea of introducing a new koth and A/D map into the rotation. The strategy level for viaduct and gpit is considerably underdeveloped in comparison to how we play cp maps, and having a single week of each game mode is just kind of odd.
Given your experience and the clips I don't think you could have made that video much better besides doing something about the 3d text. I'm impressed.
1) color correct the clips - even something as small as adding a little contrast gets rid of the ugly tf2 gray sheen, which often makes the motion blur a lot more effective since things stand out
2) stop screwing with the in-game audio - editing in just the sounds of the shots is irritating and a waste when you can work on something productive for the video. Find a decent volume for the song, remove it during slow-mo if it needs it and then don't touch it.
3) use transitions between clips - quick cuts are acceptable for some situations but they really detract from the overall look and feel of the song choice
4) don't use two songs if you can help it - both of your song choices were ~4 mins to begin with, and you did very little to actually switch between the two. It made it look like two videos pasted together.
5) if you're doing edits make sure your message gets across - you had one clip where a scout bats a medic and he drops but your slow-mo wasn't even really at the right time, i had to watch it 3 times just to make sure
6) the video just ends for no reason
7) please have some quality control before you upload - unlist it and have friends watch it and watch it yourself a lot beforehand, i'm sure you would have caught the problems if you looked for some
I think it's great that you made the vid, but work on the video side of it and you can definitely up the overall quality. Take some notes from torn productions, they can do no wrong.
I replaced mge with cpma a few weeks ago, definitely a good call
