MR_SLINit is pretty easy....it's like a very expensive lego set. once you do it the first time you'll be a master.

Exactly, you're not building a computer. You're playing with expensive Legos.

Even if you just keep in your mind, someone may be able to get you to tell them the info. If they succeed, your account(s) is/are compromised.

It's only completely safe if literally no one knows it and it's not stored anywhere. But then it doesn't exist, so...

TurinActually, not many sites have 100% secure passwords, or even 80%. Almost any common use password is easily breakable (the requirements that some services have, such as one number or a capital actually make it EASIER to figure out).

Passwords are getting outdated and fast. Other means of securing identity, such as mobile phones, cards that a computer can detect, are vastly more secure than passwords ever can be.

Also, why do you always jump to crazy conclusions Hooky? Like just because we all of a sudden learned that ESEA is a subpar service (which we all knew all along) doesn't mean we should jump ship, even if CEVO still existed.

yeah I should really not wait to go to bed

Edit: nvm I'm dumb

gargleburryGeknaiirgargleburryafter this season of esea I've realized how shit it is, I used to think it was better than any other league in tf2 but now I think its garbage just because of the way the servers and client is rundid they not fix the servers???I just played a match had 200 ping the entire game with rubber banding. I went on a dustbowl skial server and I got 30 ping

What's your ISP, and was it a Dallas server? Charter/AT&T users have been having issues with ESEA's Dallas servers.

^ Pretty sure they never change the map rotation, even if it's just an updated version of one already in the rotation, once the season begins, unless there's a major bug in one of the maps.

DaggerESEA can we use rc5 pls

Phif_blueThanks for all the effort, the -frags are really unnecessary in my opinion.
Yeah idk what's up with those. Kinda scared me for a sec because I thought I uploaded a broken version or something haha

Pretty sure some people just go around -fragging everyone.

StevokenivoSorry, some of us is arrogant, and is not as "knowledgeable" as the rest of you.... some of us have lives, and don't notice, but care, just as much!

I apologize, it was very wrong of me to post that.

Dr_DjonesSatellite internet is also an option, but considering you're posting on TFTV...
Satellite is NOT an option, you will have a base ping of at least 5-700.

It's an option if ping doesn't matter and only stable speeds do. It's definitely not an option for games though, which is why I had that bit at the end.

yeah i live near a decent sized city but apparently at&t cant serve my area but can serve the school 5 minutes away? its really dumb. got twc to come in, they kinda fiddled with our shit and just said "it's too old"

Yep, that happens. It sucks. Can't really do anything about it unless cities start rolling out municipal fiber.

#5 internet in Hardware

Even though you say there's only one ISP, have you checked the local telco (assuming TWC doesn't have a monopoly on phone service, but idk if that can happen)? Chances are if you can get AT&T real U-verse will be available if you live near a decently sized city. You could also be stuck with DSL. If your local telco is Verizon, then you're most likely stuck with DSL. AT&T has generally had good customer support for my family (relatively speaking of course, we've had numerous issues with Comcast, but hasn't everyone?).

Also try checking for smaller ISPs. You'll have to do some digging though. However, they will most likely only serve businesses.

Satellite internet is also an option, but considering you're posting on TFTV...

If TWC is literally your only option (or Comcast, in case anyone else uses this), then the only thing I can suggest is checking your wiring/equipment, and possibly have TWC come and check the lines. If all else fails, move. You won't get much better support if only one ISP services your area. Even if TWC or Comcast competes with just AT&T or Verizon just competition and being able to threaten to switch will get you better deals.

tl;dr check local telco, possible local ISPs, check wiring/equipment, or move to somewhere with at least a duopoly.

Good luck. The internet situation in the US is pretty bad, although Canada and Australia have it even worse.

Edit:

VandThis is probably really unhelpful, but simply said: no.

You will probably try a number of different approaches with TWC's "customer service" department in order to see if they can say anything remotely intelligent, or at least different from what the last person left you with in regards to excuses, and then maybe during your tenth or fifteenth attempt you will have a "technical engineer" pay visit to your house and do nothing but fiddle with the modem they gave you or criticize the one you decided to choose for yourself. Perhaps the issue will resolve itself "magically" at some point, but really, I would abandon any and all hope if you want this issue to be fixed in a timely manner by paid people actually working on it.

This goes with the 4th paragraph: It's most likely on TWC's end and not on your end. Probably isn't even the cables on your street.
