Ok thanks everyone. I'm definitely installing f.lux/redshift, I guess if that doesn't fix it completely I'll go for some glasses as well.
bind r "+reload;impulse 101" should work
Or you could just turn autoreload on 8)
I've seen a few threads here where people recommend Gunnar glasses to solve eyestrain issues. I'm starting to get cvs issues, for example I pretty much permanently have a couple of red streaks in one of my eyes now, even while using eyedrops, and I also get headaches from not very much screen use. The redness fades a bit when I stop using screens, and it's better when I use the eyedrops, but I can't go days without my gaming fix :/ although i might have to soon. Anyway i'm wondering if I should get some gunnars, I've heard they help with eye issues. Has anyone here had similar problems and tried out gunnars?

Interesting page, wasn't aware of this.
Also, Tek > everyone, wasn't aware he had so many hours.
Explains why he's such a beastly pocket
Edit: that wasn't meant as an insult
It seems i don't have a good track record of giving accurate advice, but you should probably check your cpu tempuratures to see if it's overheating, given that the frame drops are occuring in fits and starts. Try CoreTemp or HWMonitor.
Ok so i saw your reddit thread, for anyone else's info the specs are fx 6300 and gtx 750. With this system you will be very cpu limited, and for games like tf2 that's not a good thing. Ignoring these framedrops, your best way to increase your fps is counter-intuitively to increase your graphical settings, to shift more of the workload from your cpu to your gpu. Try running with chris' maxquality config and see if that helps.
You can find your specs by going to device manager. Not really an issue here though, from what you've put here they seem to be decent, although if I found the right cpu (fx-6300) that's probably the weakest link of your system.
Anyway, what happened '2 hours ago' as of your first post when your frames went from being smooth to really bad? Were you in game, or did it work fine one time and then start failing when you reopened the game?
Also, try a different game that has similar requirements to tf2. Cs:go might work. See if you get framedrops there.
Could be that a part in your computer is dodgy.
What framerates were you getting before? Also what specs?
yttriumAt least they made it so you can't detonate stickies during a taunt... that fucking high five idle corner checking.
No that made it worse, now it's only something you can do with toggleable taunts, with high five you can still just exit the taunt and det basically instantly.
wonderlandI'm well aware that he has interp ratio 1. The calculation is
interp ratio divided by updaterate to get interp.
1/66 = 0.015152
like I said if his rates are 67 then we get
1/67 = 0.014925
His rates can't be 67. From the Valve Dev Wiki:
The snapshot update rate is limited by the server tickrate, a server can't send more then one update per tick. So for a tickrate 66 server, the highest client value for cl_updaterate would be 66.
The following servers tickrate cannot be altered as changing this causes server timing issues.
Tickrate 66
Counter Strike: Source
Day of Defeat: Source
Team Fortress 2
wonderlandokay so you ignore netgraph AND CONSOLE.
can you prove it then?
Yes.
Valve Dev WikiYou can set cl_interp to 0 and still have a safe amount of interp.
Moral of the story:
Valve Dev WikiDon't change console settings unless you are 100% sure what you are doing
Oh btw you only get
wonderland1/66 = 0.015152
wonderlandwhen a lower number,
15.151515...
wonderlandis rounded up
wonderlandprojectiles always lag behind by the amount of your interp + latency
if they really feel bad check your interp in net graph to make sure its set correctly
Bucakealso, cl_interp might as well be 0. it gets ignored unless it's higher than cl_interp_ratio / cl_updaterate, and .0152 is the lowest interp possible in tf2.if the rates are set to 67, like he has, then cl_interp 0 will make it below 0.0152 which is bad news bears for hitreg.
I think cl_interp 0 is a lazy setting, potentially bad
Firstly, he has cl_interp_ratio set and tf2 discards the smaller value anyway, secondly setting both interp and interp ratio to 0 just defaults it to 15.2ms interp, you can't go any lower no matter what netgraph says lol.
manaKairuApparently there was some upper level e-mail with the inclusion of several big community members around the time Lange quit that went plain unanswered.Just to clarify, it DID get answered.Admirable god damn it
What was the answer?
MightyTwistedDon't use idiot proof weapons like DR and Spycicle and you will eventually learn how to not die every 15 seconds while still killing people.I pretty agree with this 100%. When I'm in lobbies, I use the Invis watch, and it doesn't stop me from surfing at all. I've personally learned that Spy is a very low priority target, and if I can sneak in with an Invis Watch undetected (Unlike the obvious as hell DR that makes targets expect you, and makes every2 less vulnerable) easily allowing me to pick off high-priority targets, along with the occasional Pyro and happenseverytim Heavy. I also think that having a second-life machine isn't going to make you better, but instead more sloppy and less careful.
nopePlay the other classes, you'll improve your aim and movement faster while getting a better sense of how those classes will react in specific situations.I can use the revolver just as effectively as I can use a shotgun, and my Amby aim can consistently kill people that aren't scouts. I'm a noob, but I still have 1,000 Hours, a Steelseries Rival, and a mid-low DPI. I honestly think enemy reactions are very obvious, and knowing the general enemy positions on the map is much more important.
Sounds like you know what you're doing then, just keep playing. Asking tftv for spy tips is like asking Hitler to point you in the direction of the nearest synagogue.
_Ghost_Is there a way to tell which vpks I've already installed? What would happen if I installed more than once?
Look in your custom folder, if you tried to copy the vpks in again windows would warn you about overwriting the files.
