you dont need to be in the beta to update your huds.

Since I don't have a pass but want to make sure my HUD's up to date, is there anything that I'd need to do as a HUD dev to add in support for the new things outside of just simply copy/pasting the changed/new files into my HUD?

I know I can probably test most of the stuff in a local server via tf_competitive_mode 1, but stuff like the end/result panel doesn't require any additional editing, right?
this would be an amazing thread to make, relating to huds and matchmaking coming out so that people that use their own huds can update them to work with the mm update.

I used to make update posts about this stuff on huds.tf, but I'm super busy so I haven't done it yet.

I did get some people to staff on huds.tf to do it for me but they haven't so I don't know why I bothered asking them. I'll get around to it in the week.

There's no point in adding folders you can't change. sv_pure blocks most changes made in these folders.

If you want them so bad, learn how to use gcfscape.

okay...playing with border_default/armed (within mainmenuoverride) was something i did before and which resulted in nothing. Luckily i managed to use a portion of what remained of my brain to find the entry in the clientscheme which define the button background.

Edit:
So i wanted to get rid of the rounded edges and was able to do so by setting the bordertype to NoBorder.
I found this by looking ginto some older huds, which had what i wanted. (notoHUD, yaHUD, IsaacHud)

Furthermore to actually change the color, you need to set "painbackground" to 1 and add "BgColor_override" lines for the various states of the button. I pretty much got what i wanted now, thanks a lot!

One more question though. When i load my hud (start the game or reload it), the quickplay button will have the "armed" state instead of default. Any ideas what might be causing this? It irks me out. It doesnt seem to be related to the mainmenuoverride file.

If you remove the "nav" stuff from the buttons, they can't highlight on launch/by default.
