#6 What are your mouse settings and inches-per-360? in Off Topic

800 dpi, 2 in game, 25.9cm/360, I play scout, soldier, sniper and medic. It's the same sensitivity I use in other FPS games. I'd use lower but my mousepad is not big enough (27x32cm).

#39 A_Seagull in Off Topic

Well:

-most importantly Overwatch is a very popular game at the moment
-Seagull is a guy who started streaming it since the beginning of the beta
-he is ridiculously good at the game in terms of gamesense
-he plays in a pro team
-his stream is very informative, he talks about strategy, counters and very often explains his decisions and plays thoroughly

All of these reasons make him a unique streamer at the moment who is not only very good at the game, but also open, chilled out and he does this kind of a stream that you can learn from a lot.

#15 Opinions on this video in TF2 General Discussion

He also completely missed the point of Clockwork talking about eaziness of using discord orbs and related that only to healing orbs and how you don't have to aim medigun in TF2, which is something completely different.

#9 Stretching 4:3 to 16:9 in Q/A Help

Sorry for the bump, but for some reason it stopped working for me. Am I the only one?

[edit] Oh nvm, I wish I could delete it. I kinda fixed it myself.

#3 New headphones in Hardware

It's all up to your sound preferences, for real. Go to some local store where you can listen to various headphones and choose ones that have the best sound for you and feel most comfortable. I can recommend AKG k518, because I like them the most out of any headphones I had.

#13 Gaming Laptop in Hardware
Dave_If you want a gaming laptop get sager/clevo/msi
You can get a gaming laptop now with a desktop cpu and a desktop gpu. Pretty much a portable desktop. The issue with gaming laptops is that the hardware in them is not as fast as a desktop so you always miss out.

AND they tend to overheat. Good speks in laptop = MUCH overheating, and sometimes even a good cooling pad doesn't help and CPU throttling occurs, giving horrible fps drops. That's why MSI laptops are considered good for gaming, coz they always have very good cooling and it's the reason I chose one. I had ASUS laptop with some decent CPU and GPU and it overheated like hell, during summer it would randomly shut down while playing TF2, coz CPU temperature reached like, 98-100 Celsius. And I used a good cooling pad with it.

aierapatyshttp://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX61200This actually looks across the board worse than the one posted in the topic post from price to specs

In the country where I live I managed to find this MSI laptop for the same price as the IdeaPad posted above (15inch). They differ only by GPU (lenovo got 960m, MSI got 950m) but MSI is considerably lighter and got better cooling, that's why I chose it.

#9 Gaming Laptop in Hardware

I had exact same dilemma for past 2 days, finally decided on this one:
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX61200

Nice i7 6700HQ cpu, 8GB RAM and GTX 950m, 15.6inch. Apparently has really good cooling, lots of open space on the bottom, so using a cooling pad will be very efficient too. It delivers tomorrow so I can let you know how it feels :D

#1 Randomly stuck at parsing game info in Q/A Help

On random days of the week, sometimes its Monday, sometimes Wednesday (like today), sometimes not at all, when I try to connect to a server I am stuck at "Parsing game info" and the progress bar doesn't go past 3 bars in every Steam game. At any time I can click cancel, so the game does not freeze. It happens on random times of the day, it happens on every internet connection I tried. It happens when I'm in my hometown flat where I live with parents, it happens in my flat in the city where I study where I live alone and only I use the internet. It doesn't matter whether I am connected through wi-fi or Ethernet cable. I can't connect to the game servers (even though I see them in the server browser, damn, I can even queue matchmaking, find a game but just can't connect to a server) for like 2-3hours and then everything works for perfectly for the next couple of days/weeks. I tried every single suggestion I found on Steam forums, including reinstalling the game, restarting computer, router, steam, verifying game cache, replacing Masterservers.vdf files.

Has ANYONE ever experience such thing? What more can I do? It's been stuck now for at least 2 hours. It's frustrating because it usually happens in the evening, when I want to play lobbies which fill faster then, or some wacky servers like DM or 100% crits.

[edit] Another thing I noticed is that when it happens, everyone on matchmaking ranking list has default rank 1. Funnily though, drop system works. I just found an item even though I didn't play for past 3 hours at all.

#7 My band recorded an EP :> in Off Topic

Top notch stuff, I immediately send the link to my friend, who is into emo/screamo too. I hope you will manage to organise yourself some gigs and go on a small tour around the country, as I have done a couple of 3-5days ones with my band and it was one of the best experiences in my life :) We're doing more sludgy stuff tho.

[edit] my comment was seen as hijacking, but really, people who are into DIY emo/hardcore stuff simply LOVE exchanging experiences, each other's bands etc. People who are on tftv apparently not :d

#2 Frame Rates in Q/A Help

Comanglia FPS config, that's for sure. Boosts my constant 30-50fps on regular settings to 80-150 with the config on. Lowering resolution gave me a great boost as well (I used to do 1366x768, now changed to 1024x768 stretched). And make sure to run it on -dxlevel 81 for greatest performance or -dxlevel 95 for slightly worse performance, but much better graphics and ability to play matchmaking.

And use Game Booster 3, it really does a ton, especially for laptops. Helps with preventing overheating and throttling. Any stuff like CCleaner is also good, lets you disable some useless programs which always run when you boot your computer.

Considering good gaming laptops tend to overheat, make sure yours does not. Download Aida64, play game and run System Stability Test to check temperatures of your CPU (<85 Celsius should be fine) and whether CPU throttling appears. Throttling means your CPU is forced to lower its power in order to reduce overheating, hence fps drops happen. If your CPU reaches temperatures like 95, buy a cooling pad. Coolermaster ones are pretty dope. If you haven't cleaned the inside of you laptop for more than 1.5-2years, please do it - I can't stress how much it helps with overheating.

[edit] Oh, and last 1 thing. If you happen to have nVidia graphics card, open nVidia control panel and set some custom settings for TF2, like, turn off ambient occlusion, FXAA, Vsync etc.
