#1 Free Linux games/clones in Other Games

With the soon to be released multiplatform Vulkan API, my interest in switching to Linux for gaming has increased quite a lot, so I'd like to get a good list going of free linux games, preferably with real-time 3D graphics but everything allowed

Examples:
Frets On Fire/FoFix (Guitar Hero clone)
0 A.D. (Age of Empires clone)
SuperTuxKart (Mario Kart clone)
Greedy Car Thieves (GTA2 clone)
Wormux (Worms clone)
Open Arena (Quake3 clone)
Urban Terror (Quake3 mod, free thanks to ioquake3)
Assault Cube

Huge list of open source games on GitHub

Windows games on wine or console games playable through emulation are not Linux games.
You can search for Wine compatible software in their database

#12 Overclocking Mice in Hardware

holy crap 2000 Hz is already pretty overkill.
im gonna stay at 500 Hz since anything more makes my low end mouse sensor pretty crazy+

DamnEasyWhat would this do?

overclocking the USB polling rate decreases the negative acceleration of the mouse! heres a good video to explain what negative acceleration is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgbWWTanmQk
its kinda like the top speed at wich your mouse sensor detects movement. so maybe with 125 Hz you can 360 in 20cm swowly but moving the mouse fast causes you to turn less
That said having polling rate too high above default settings can cause jitter or other problems !

SetsulAnyway what you get (if your mouse even suppports >1000Hz) is higher CPU load and therefore lower polling precision. Oh wait you were asking for what this improves. Uhm, the number is higher?

getting mouse input more often. and yeah this could affect cpu performance with very old CPUs
not a big deal at all this days... 1000hz means you're making the system check the mouse EVERY 1ms!
most cheap mice are 125 Hz by default, a default that was set a looong time ago.

#4 problem inside motherboard bios when overclocking. in Hardware
astrin_Karlare you sure you have an unlocked (k) cpu? could check for bios updates as well.yes I have unlocked. I have the i5 4690k devils canyon. My bios is most likely updated but ill update again if i can

maybe try overclocking directly with the FSB? that should be the simplest way i think.
i dont really trust overclocking tools or "OC mode" in bios

#32 What should be the maximum FOV? in TF2 General Discussion
Pellovleyi set my 1920x1080 monitor to simulate 2560x1080, which gives me a notably increased fov

how do you do this?

#18 What should be the maximum FOV? in TF2 General Discussion
disengageRofl, 130? Have you guys even played with 120 before? It looks extremely stretched and not to mention your sense of distance is completely thrown off. Tf2 was not made with those high fovs in mind. On QL, 120 looks okay, 100 is great though. I would definitely keep the max at 90. MAYBE 100.

I think something like 100 or even 110 would be good as a max (optional)
110 would be great for meds and raise the skill ceiling and situational awareness for scout

#9 What should be the maximum FOV? in TF2 General Discussion
Quikeven most quake pros use 90 (106-110 on quake engine)
for example gaiia, hal_9000

so people who want to have 120 in tf2 because they have 120 in ql, actually want to have 100 in tf2 not fucking 120

why is FOV 90 106-110 on quake?
i see a lot of people using 100 or more in quake live

#1 What should be the maximum FOV? in TF2 General Discussion

With the Gun Mettle and Tough Break update there were a lot of changes.
Similar huge updates and gameplay changes will be happening in the future. If they change the graphical options and other more technical stuff, and they happen to ask YOU, yes you, what should be the maximum Field of View, what would you say ?

Also what graphical options do you think they should add to the game?

#28 TF2 Poor FPS GTX 970 & i7 3770k w/ fps config in Customization

Not sure if anybody mentioned this, but have you checked your PC for viruses? That could heavily affect your PC performance. You shouldnt need to OC on that setup to get like 200fps or more. (I have a worse PC than that and rarely go under my fps cap of 187)

Hey the hud is pretty cool but I get a wierd problem with my crosshair for some reason where it displays the letter Z in the middle. Do you know what could be causing this and how to get rid of it?
Best regards

#10 Transfering Comp To New Case in Hardware
Red_What's the best way to clean my parts boys cause they're dusty AF

there are dust removers wich are essentially spray cans with air and a little tube that work very well
alternativelly you can use an airbrush with no ink if you happen to own one

#199 all aboard in TF2 General Discussion
MankyMore in-depth code shows class selection of some kind, with pre-formatted limits(from what I've concluded), as well with spectator update. Maybe potential comp training(?). Hype.

Advanced training would be brilliant. The training arenas they have right now are for absurdly basic stuff.
Something like what Quake Live has for training would be great
