SearchlightGot them removed in pairs a couple months ago, with local anesthesia only. Surprisingly, getting a syringe in your mouth isn't nearly as retch-inducing as you'd think, guess there just aren't that many nerve ends in there. They tell you to put some music on so you don't hear the drill, but I'm not sure how high you'd have to turn up the volume to drown out a sound that reverberates through your entire skull.
Same for me (but ages ago). When the wisdom tooth can't just be cut/pulled, the surgeon drills it to pieces right in your mouth, while a vacuum tube directly sucks up all the tooth debris. Had it done with local anesthesia too; no pain, just big pressure on your jaw and your whole skull resonating with it. Although this type of wisdom teeth removal is a bit more "messy", I don't remember having much trouble afterwards with pain or bleeding.
