J6_SteveGo to your tf directory steam>steamapps>common>Team Fortress 2>tf, and if you haven't already, create a folder called "Custom" or whatever you want. Within that unzip the captions files to a folder called "Closed Captions"
Then ingame open console and type
closecaption 1
and hit enter

well there is no download on the google code page... :( thats why this post is up.

ninjazzishzbtis there any way to get a outline overide? on the dammage numbers :)Added the font definitions for outlines in the clientscheme now. Download the newest version and then go into HudDamageAccount.res and change the font label.

Example: "Medium23" to "Medium23Outline"

Lemme know if that's what you meant :)

I love you (no homo)

Oblivionageseeing as how the 500 series chips are very warm i'd assume it's the video card and not the cpu. Try http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Fun fact my cpu is 20 degrees cel lower than my cpu .....

#21 massive fps drops - Help appreciated in Hardware
crespiI also play on a laptop (macbook pro)

When I first got this computer, about 2 years ago, it never dipped below 300 fps.

Then, last summer, an update came out and my frames started to drop. I figured it was the update. Every update after that my frames seemed to be even worse.

Then, just yesterday, I opened up my MBP and took a look inside. Guess what I found?

It's hard to see all of the dust that was in there before I cleaned it out, but it was a lot.

My cpu was throttling itself while tf2 was running, because under the load of tf2 it would have to completely throttle itself so that my computer didn't over heat. This was giving me terrible fps. As soon as I put her back together and booted tf2, I went from 40-60 fps back to 200+ with no dips.

CLEAN YOUR COMPUTER OUT.
