I'd drop the PSU to a Corsair RM450 if it's cheaper, you definitely don't need more than 500W, especially with a 750ti. Also it might be cheaper for you to go to an matx case and save a bit on both the motherboard and case.

300W should be more than enough (saves another 10$ and keeps it under 500$).
Keep in mind that you can't enable C6/7 states (should be disabled by default) with a lot of low-end PSUs (including Seasonic SS-xxxES/ET) or "things" will happen.

I'd have recommended a 300W except I don't know of any that aren't no-name pieces of shit, and at least with a 400-500W PSU he could upgrade to a decent midrange GPU without upgrading his PSU.

Not a build, but an upgrade question I'm having a tough time figuring out. I currently have a Asus P8Z68-V Pro mobo, and wondering if I could use a Ivy Bridge Chip and if I would need to update my bios or whatnot in order to make it work.
I've been searching and can not find a definitive answer. Some help would be great, thanks.

if you have the motherboard and a sandy CPU, you can update it to the newest BIOS and it will support ivy CPUs, but IMO, if you have a sandy cpu already, I wouldn't upgrade, the jump from sandy-ivy or even sandy-haswell isn't that big for gaming performance.

Your link goes to a 3570 non k edition(no overclocking).
Your cpu and mobo are incompatible, lga 1150 is for 4xxx processors and lga 1155 is for 3xxx processors.
The 4670k is the equivalent haswell gen proc: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899
There is already thermal compound applied to stock heatsinks so you can nix that if your going to stick with a stock cooler for now.
I really do not think you need the 3GB version of the 770, the monitor you chose runs a max resolution of 1920x1080, and the 2GB version will work perfectly for you. You can save some money going for something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741

okay. so im not sure if the i3 would be a bottleneck, and im open to upgrade to an i5, but im not sure what would be best.
also, the motherboard has $70.00 shipping for some reason.
also, i'm pretty sure i could get the operating system for a discount, not sure tho.
also, should i be worried about this?
Asus P8B75-V ATX LGA1155 Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.

If I'm correct then all that means is that you won't be able to use USB 3.0 sockets on the front of the case, they will still be available on the rear I/O panel though.

The i3-2120 is 2 gens old, 4th gen is current. I'd recommend an i3-4330.
No cooler needed, the CPU comes with one.
Different mainboard for a 4th gen (= LGA1150) CPU. Also µATX because smaller = cheaper.
Better and cheaper RAM.
Smaller case (see mobo), mostly a placeholder though, just take whatever you like.

No USB 3.0 front ports means that you can't use the internal USB 3.0 headers. The USB 3.0 ports on the back will still work and there should be headers for front USB 2.0 ports too, so you'll just have USB 2.0 on the front panel.

The i3-2120 is 2 gens old, 4th gen is current. I'd recommend an i3-4330.

If you happen to have a microcenter near you, you could get the 4670k for the same price if you pick it up there. Also what is your price range? Sorry for the late reply, been away for a while.
I've already got the graphics card so around £400 is my budget for everything else. Also I'm in Wales so there's no Microcenter here ;_;

Anyone know a quiet PSU even on high load (<30 dB)? Thinking about a SeaSonic X Series X650 because it was supposed to be really quiet, though pretty expensive for a 650W (it is 80+ gold though so go figure).
Also, waiting for the 4790k at the end of month/next month. At least 4.7 GHz air OC I'm hoping.

Upgrade question:
I got a VG248QE a few months back, and since this is a 1920x1080 monitor and I came from a 1680x1050, I've noticed quite a hit in performance due to the resolution going up.
My current setup:
Asus P7P55-M mobo
i5 750 cpu
GTS 250 gpu
4 GB RAM (don't remember stats on that)
I'm leaning towards upgrading my GPU first, but I'm completely out of the loop when it comes to current GPUs, so any advice would be appreciated.

I'm leaning towards upgrading my GPU first, but I'm completely out of the loop when it comes to current GPUs, so any advice would be appreciated.
zigzterUpgrade question:
I got a VG248QE a few months back, and since this is a 1920x1080 monitor and I came from a 1680x1050, I've noticed quite a hit in performance due to the resolution going up.
My current setup:
Asus P7P55-M mobo
i5 750 cpu
GTS 250 gpu
4 GB RAM (don't remember stats on that)
I'm leaning towards upgrading my GPU first, but I'm completely out of the loop when it comes to current GPUs, so any advice would be appreciated.
Whats your price range?

Oh right. Less than 250-300 if possible.

For my first PC, anyone recommending anything I can cut out for a 120 hz monitor and still stay in my 1k budget?

Hey guys,
I'm currently looking to put together a new PC that will run TF2 and other similar games well. I'm also looking for something that has plenty of power & speed, and won't blow up on me like my previous computer. I have a friend who can put it together for me, I just need the parts. Thus, I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could make a pcpartpicker for me.
I have a budget of around $1000-$1150, and already have a case (and possibly other usable parts - I'll need to get clarification).
I'd appreciate any assistance.

You can most likely cut on the gfx if you want to add more storage space, but 1TB of storage will go for another 50$. What components do you have now? Also, completely beast build, will eat anything you will throw at him in 1200P even 1440P with some tweaks (and presuming you overclock that thing).
