What is with the large number of people who use this site to stream things that aren't TF2? DOTA, DayZ, CSS, Zelda, HL2... I know I've seen many others but I just can't think of them right now. If people want to stream things other than TF2, it should be kept separate from this.
First of all, they are not using this site. This site has a list of streams from twitch.tv and those streams are by people who play TF2 competitively. However, they do not play TF2 24/7 and enjoy other games. If you are not entertained by Seanbud's antics in DayZ or a couple of friends playing Half Life, then you don't have to watch.
Should we get rid of all the streamers who play in pubs from time to time too? It's not "competitive tf2", so it shouldn't be on this site, right?
I'm not saying people shouldn't play other games, I'm just saying it seems odd that it gets streamed onto what is supposed to be a TF2 stream site. Is there no way for streamers to prevent the site from picking up their stream when not streaming TF2? The only reason I complain is because there have been many times where I come on to watch some TF2, only to find that the few people streaming aren't even playing TF2.
i know people on both joindota and teamliquid stream games that arent the primary game listed by their stream or the website
i cant figure out why this bothers you

Stream whatever game you want yo, but if I click on Alex "Lange-" Van Camp's stream and he's doing Zelda speed runs again I'm going to cry. Just doesn't rustle my jimmies like watching him game some TF2 does. Alex remember all the small people!
Remember this though 'Bandit1379' it's the off season. Come soon there will be TF2 streaming galore.
Also SKILL_DETECTOR you remind me of the lazy gotfrag trolls who wouldn't log out and instead post 'normally' using their aliases. =[

#10 making a bunch of steam accounts is pretty boring, plus that guy has gold username.
Alex.. I uhhh.. didn't... expect to see you here.
Thanks!!
Also S_D I just saw your post in the medics thread, I take back what I said! Keep on trucking.

I usually end up watching the streams longer when they are streaming stuff other than tf2.
Bandit1379Is there no way for streamers to prevent the site from picking up their stream when not streaming TF2?
i could, but plenty of people (myself included) enjoy watching streaming personalities do other stuff
if it really bothers you, you can check http://teamfortress.tv/streams for a thumbnail preview and the game streamers are playing

Thanks, I never noticed that feature, it will help figure out what people are doing. Another thing I've noticed is that streamers don't tend to change the description of what they are doing next to their name when they start doing something else, which can tend to lead to confusion.

I'm considering the past few months of streaming, not just recent stuff, but for sure; is summer the off-season?

UGC's highlander season just ended
ESEA starts up again next week
i46 starts in two weeks
you'll probably see actual TF2 streaming ramp up in the coming weeks

Admittedly sometimes I wish they'd play pugs/tf2 more. Right now there are 4 streamers, one is playing MvM as Heavy, one is MGE'ing, one is playing jump maps and one is playing SC2.
Though it's all up to them, I probably wouldn't play nearly as much TF2 as people wanted me to either.
