Team Comtress 2
What is Team Comtress 2? It's a version of Team Fortress 2, based on the recent leak which aims to fix many bugs, performance issues, etc. Imagine it like mastercomfig on steroids!
Obviously, as a leaked build, it's not useful for getting better performance in Casual on its own (you can't use this build to connect to any existing servers), but it can help me a lot if you all can test it, so that I am more confident in sending many of these changes to Valve for them to include in the base game! Please let me know how it works for you!

Should take a look at CastingEssentials for a bunch of STV fixes that are currently broken or missing entirely from the base game:
- Invisible player models not being forced into client leaf system (?)
- Incorrect viewheight for players sent to STV
- Missing server events not sent to STV (atm possible thanks to SrcTV+ (requires increased tv_maxrate))
- Hit events (especially criticals) not being sent properly to STV (overhead texts are missing for headshots if that helps)
- CE also added a FXAA implementation that might be faster and/or better looking
- Viewmodel (particle) fixes (unusual effects, rotating minigun barrels, medigun beam) that don't work in STVs without CE
- Alternative outlines that only draw when model is occluded and adding ones for projectiles

If anyone is curious, this is because DX9 should be a more efficient renderer, except for the lower quality settings only available on DX8. I'm looking to add options to enable these reduced graphics options, and along with the general performance improvements, DX8 shouldn't be needed anymore and can be stripped out for even greater performance.

mastercoms has ascended from mastercomfig to literally just doing the work that valve should be doing

I mean it, does someone have a contact at valve? there's no reason this shit shouldn't be in the fucking game
It's infuriating

I mean, a lot of this stuff is not very well tested. So I would understand if they would be uncomfortable to include it.

They're uncomfortable to update the fucking game themselves, you're already doing amazing work brother, keep it up.

i haven't actually looked at the github, but isn't it very bad if you're redistributing leaked source code without permission

I understand that this isn't something that we should fork into the "real" game rn. But the fact that shounic is still finding bugs & that you've made this at all, and valve just doesnt give a fuck to even change default FOV to 90...

Would still recommend making the STV's tv_snapshotrate 66 and match the update rates from the server instead of the 33 you make it default to now.
Nice to see actually improved default netsettings, should give everyone a more fair and equal playing ground if this ever makes it in to the actual live version of the game.
Not sure about the 120 fov option, with the stock viewmodels arms that will still look weird/wrong even at 90.
Also with regards to the sv_pure stuff Pete mentioned earlier, CSGO now has actual proper file hash checking (supposedly) that will not allow you to connect with mismatched files in your installation folder.

mastercomsIncreased default FOV to 90, and max FOV to 120
mastercoms...It's a version of Team Fortress 2, based on the recent leak which aims to fix many bugs, performance issues, etc.
Default FOV to 90 is great, but allowing anything above that is game changing and I think misses the initial point of this project.
Besides that keep going, these are all incredible!

I agree but essentially higher than 90 fov is available in tf2 if you have a wide monitor or triple monitor setup, right? this just levels the playing field (while making me have to throw up but sacrifices must be made for in game info :o )
maybe a slightly lower number than 120? that is a bit gamechanging (and not particularly accessible for the same reason as 70 isn't- makes most ppl feel kinda sick/dizzy/strained in the eyes). that + removing horizontal FOV exploits would be really great
edit: this is only half right, per info in comment #30. oops.

I looked at CS:GO for the basis of these networking default changes. I feel like I should be more conservative when it comes to these defaults.

There's some server setting that limits the effective fov from going over what you get with 16:9 aspect ratio, it's not on by default but is used in most comp rulesets
