Joining the tally of leagues to announce their season calendars, Respawn League is bringing forward their plans for 2021, along with formal announcements for Highlander and 4v4 (dubbed "Quadlander").
Highlander
RSL's bread and butter, Highlander Season 8 for Australia, and Season 7 for Asia. This season will be taking a more experimental approach with both maps and whitelist. For the latter, the league will be banning both the Scorch Shot, and Natascha. The first was also banned in the upcoming RGL Highlander Season 8, where it was voted out with 59% being for a ban (73% when filtered to Invite/Advanced). The map pool will mainly be looking at new versions of existing maps, with the exception of Warmtic, which replaces Cascade. This brings the pool to:
- pl_upward_pro_b3 (from pl_upward)
- pl_prowater_b12 (from pl_badwater_pro_v13_b1)
- pl_swiftwater_final1
- pl_borneo
- pl_vigil_rc7
- koth_product_rcx
- koth_ashville_rc2b
- koth_warmtic_b6
- cp_steel_pro_rc1 (from cp_steel)
With the season being viewed as experimental, there has been no prize pool fielded, however the league said that would be saved for the more normal mid-year season. To register, or view the original announcement, you can see RSL's pages for Asia Season 7 and AU/NZ Season 8.
4v4
Since a combined Season 3 back in 2019, 4v4 has made a return to Respawn League under the moniker of Quadlander. While all the exact details are still pending as we await the January 31st signups opening, we know the map pool, which has little change except swapping Stallone for Warmfrost. This brings the full pool to:
- koth_bagel_rc2
- cp_warmfrost_rc1
- koth_cascade_rc1a
- koth_brazil
- koth_maple_ridge_b6
- koth_product_rcx
Further details will be announced through Respawn League's website. Coverage of the league will be available on KritzKast and CappingTV
