the default is a fav, especially the shadowed version. I sometimes tunnel or miss my scatter shots bc my crosshair is so small like with a dot or something, but brackets open that area up a bit and let you aim with all your spread.

AimIsADickflyingbuddy@AimIsADick……Crosshairs that display health and speed?????
I’m having a brain aneurysm..helpbuudAimIsADick"I like crosshairs that display my health"care to elaborate?
"I like crosshairs that display my speed").
Yes. It is possible to have crosshairs display health and speed thanks to the Health and PlayerSpeed material proxies.
In fact my medic crosshair displays my speed to me, so that I don't have to try and guess my speed.
this is pretty fucking sick lmao

AimIsADickAs a starting point, try to figure out what you prefer in a crosshair, such as "I like crosshairs that display my health" or "I like crosshairs that display my speed").
If you don't really like the premade crosshairs online, you can make your own. Here are some resources to get you started:
- HOW TO MAKE VTF CROSSHAIRS
- List of Material Proxies - VDC Wiki
- Valve Texture Format - VDC Wiki
Side note: If you're looking for premade crosshairs, I made custom crosshairs for myself that you are free to try out.
yo I really liked the crosshair you have for your medigun, but do you know how I can make the green bar expand vertically from the bottom end of the cross toward its center? mb also how to make it colorable?

Wandumreal scout players change crosshairs twice a day just use all of them at once to get a leg up on the competition
im a scout main and this is true

bright color that stands out thats it thats all u need make it the batman logo if u want i know a player that uses a literal catface ---> (=^-ω-^=) <--- (this fucking shit) it does not matter
ikzlthis is pretty fucking sick lmao
Thank you. :)
hannahDo you have a video of you playing with the speed crosshair? I’m genuinely curious
No. I'm super lazy and I usually never end up converting demos to videos. It wouldn't be difficult to get a demo up though, so I can share those instead.
TheGreatMarioyo I really liked the crosshair you have for your medigun, but do you know how I can make the green bar expand vertically from the bottom end of the cross toward its center?
The medic crosshair VTF file is composed of 25 frames, each of which has a green bar of varying length with the 0th (or 1st?) frame having no green bar at all, and the last frame having the green bar reach the edge.
Yes you can change the position of the green bars; just export the VTF file as raw image files and reposition the green bars; in fact I can do this myself if there is need for it.
TheGreatMariomb also how to make it colorable?
If you mean how to recolor the green bar to a static color, then simply extract the images out of the VTF image and recolor the green bar for each (yes...each) frame.
If you mean how to recolor the greenbar dynamically, then it gets complicated.
Thank you. :)

why in the almighty fucking heavens would anyone still respond to anything this asshole says. man is linking a fucking gigantic list of commands with barely any context like it's helpful somehow

So that I can get a better sense of speed in TF2 and to easier show the Overdose's and pocket speed buffs.
Arguably though speed meters would work better on classes that use blast jumps (like Solly and Demo).

the main way i think that info MIGHT be useful is if ur trying to ctap rockets that are being shot at you, problem is if ur good enough to do that u probably dont need that info to begin with lol. maybe theres something there with edgebugs too, since i do recall a jumper main many years ago telling me that edgebugs are only achievable at a "certain height and speed" but i believe that's untrue. u wont lose or gain much either way, but turn a crosshair into anything more than it ought to be and it just becomes visual noise.

Well hey some people simply have bad senses of time and position (usually people with ADHD), so it may be helpful for those people. Also our approximations of in game speed aren't always accurate.
Likewise it might be useful for some people (maybe me) to display health in their crosshair, since they can't easily peek at their health or count their health mentally without losing focus on fights.
(At this point though I think I just want excuses to use proxies 24/7. lol)

ok so ignoring that speed on medic is a bit silly why does it break when you go over the max speed the bar can show and why is that speed way too low im getting graphical glitches from hitting terminal velocity like ive never seen a crosshair glitch out like this

I was an idiot and forgot to clamp the speed. I'll push a change to fix it.
