I haven't played in like 8 years. Everyone says TF2 is dead and I should play overwatch but I still see some things happening in TF2. Noone seems to play mge or dm anymore so I'm wondering is it a good idea to get back into TF2? If it is, where do I start? How do I shake the rust off? What's changed majorly?
it's simple- play if you want. what exactly do you want playing a game to be 'worth'?
if u dont have fun playing it then dont play it its that simple
welcome back man i thought you died at the viper room on halloween 1993
TF2CC (Coaching Central) discord has pugs running pretty actively and there's also tf2center website but I think the pugs in the discord are a bit better but you aren't guaranteed your role. I'm trying to get back into it too, it's been challenging but more fun than it was in the past when every other scout was using the fan gun and every other soldier was either using the blackbox or the direct-hit.
A lot of time has past in 8 years, a lot has happened. Through thorough meta developments and balance changes, Scout is by far, the best class in tf2. So much so that pocket soldier with shotgun is no longer meta, or any class for that matter. All matches are decided by which 6 scouts are better at sacking through big door on gully. Any other strategy is obsolete in the modern competitive scene.
I think its really stupid when people think that playing or not playing a game has to be some ultimate final decision that you have to follow until the end of days, play what you want when you want, it is not that deep at all, also mge or dm servers are very active before scrim times and some other random times they decide to be populated, just be sure to check on them every now and then
did you used to have a blue phoenix with a black background as your avatar?
On God AMC just come back or don't stop posting threads about theoretically returning.
if all you plan to do is just play pubs, I probably wouldn't bother too much. The state of the casual experience of this game is just not very fun to me. If you're going to pug/get into comp then I would say try it out for a while, It's a lot of fun if you play with some good people.
