What would you do? Still play tf2, pubbing, pugs, etc? Try other games on a competitive level? Of course I know some folks say they are done and end up coming back, some long term, some for a brief stint. Personally I would just pub and mess around with good single player games.
I know scrims / matches are pretty restrictive on peoples nights, it kinda makes other activity’s revolve around this game. I know some folks would probably just take a break from gaming in general. So overall if you ever considered retiring, what would you do as far as gaming is concerned?

When I left for 4 years, I just played pubs and joined CS:GO teams. Tried also playing casual games.

Before I got back into the game, I dumped way more hours into art and animation, and picked up a singing class. I still do all that stuff, but this game really demands a lot of time if I want to git gud.

I quit tf2 4 years ago.
Thought quitting tf2 would give me more time to do things but then I realised I just waste my time doing other things...like checking tftv on a daily basis.
Reading NA drama threads when you don't play tf2 is fuckin wild lmao

haven't played comp in years, NA scrim and match time heavily favours west coast and I decided healthy sleep was more important. I just pugged, mge'd, and pubbed for a while then quit entirely for CS/Val/OW. I'm back playing pubs and dm and I'm having more fun than ever. There's something special about this game that no other game has despite its many flaws...

did dirty bomb, crossfire, skill2 and ironsight when they were still alive (barely) in 2017ish. Won more money from monthlys in db than anyone I personally know did from tf2 which sucked to realize. ive tried to quit 7 or 8 times at this point with the most recent resulting in me selling my PC entirely for 3-4 months.
probably would save up 10k + 6months and go balls deep in a project with the boys or try to make it doing metal fab
