I support this. Linux is free and used. Might as well do this. But, i suggest you put this on ESEA forums.
"ESEA is a service appealing primarily to competitive players (or minimally, players who care about not playing with cheaters) and attempting to support a variety of rare configurations makes it significantly more difficult to enforce a fair and balanced gameplay environment. On that note linux will not be supported any time soon."
There has been many ESEA topics about it, but it's never going to happen sadly.
Oh and BTW, all credit for the post goes to Papa via ESEA thread

I'd imagine it's a hassle to recode cheat detection onto linux, while porting cheats are a bit easier. Though I wonder how well VAC works on linux as well.
edit: also don't get why you'd ask killing to code, considering he's just a league admin.

How about a Mac client first? Not gonna pay a shit-ton for a bootcamp partition of Windows just to play a game -_-

You use an apple product, you should be used to paying a shit-ton for everything.

Yeah, because you know having a 4 year old Mac computer that runs better then any Windows PC I've ever owned for just as long I totally be used to paying a shit-ton for everything.
There are several reasons why I have a Mac, but the bottom line is that it would be a good business decision for ESEA to make both Mac and Linux Clients.

As someone who does use a Mac (multiple reasons, mostly because I am shit with technology and don't want to be bothered with building my own PC), just use a bootcamp partition. I use mine for so much more then just ESEA...
