I'm sure most of us have been if not are at a point where we think to ourselves that we are OK, average at TF2. I'm at that point now, I think I'm average and im not sure if I will ever get out of that mindset. Have any of you passed that stage and feel really good about your skill?
You are always average compared to what you can be. -Ggglygy
Average is relative. Until you reach the top of invite, you're average compared to your competition.

I'm pretty much convinced that once you consider yourself better than most, your ego seals your doom and nothing will make you happy any more.
I still think I'm complete shit, but I guess that drives us to be better.
I can't think of anyone that's really happy about where they are. There's always something that needs improvement whether it's dm, or decision making.

I wouldn't exactly call dummy average.

Depends on who you're comparing him to. To all of invite? Above average. To b4nny (demo on team above his) and a seagull (demo on team below his), he's about average (not as good as b4nny but better than a seagull, imo).

I beat b4nny and Ruwin and Platinum and TLR a combined 80-1 in mge. That's when I was like. Holy shit I can play UGC Iron as demo.

Hey Red you're the guy who got publicly cut right?
I thought I had a long time ago when I was pubstomping.
Once I started competing in UGC cardboard I realized how very, very wrong I was and how much I could improve. That realization is probably why I still play.

when people started buying me plane tickets to play video games
isn't everyone that plays competitively above average?
yes, but lets face it if you're comparing yourself to a general pub player rather than a competitive player everyone on this forum was probably above average when they first installed the game.
MGE is a sad way of boosting my super important virtual ego, so when I win i'm all like

But an average invite player still isn't average. Average means average period.
You could also call b4nny an average b4nny. Doesn't make him less good.

I'm still utter shit and more or less always have been.
I wish I had a person to yell at me all the time about how shit I am as well.
That's more or less how I think of myself in relation to tf2.

I knew when I was above average because I realized I didn't want anymore hats, and just wanted to play.
