just as the title says...who put you onto comp tf2, who was the first player that picked you up?

or did you start your first team? for me it was DP (pub community) lonewolf and athletes foot mainly got me into it, shortly after that it was the RP crew, technosex, zak, blind etc

I used to play on a VSH server a lot, After a while I noticed HBC (the jumper) was playing there, and even though I had no clue who he was, he was destroying basically everyone, so I asked him about it and he explained how ETF2L worked and everything. Later I was part of a pub HL team in UGC recyclable paper bag division, took it way more seriously than the others, and it began.

For me it was a friend who I meet through unusual trading (heh), I was interested in stepping my game up since pubs and trading got boring, so he introduced me into tf2lobby.com and tf2pickup.net and from there on I've been gaining experience which lead into me joining my first team (which folded half-way the season; I got cut / left before the season started).
My best "compagnion" to this date would Taro, who mentored me and since then became a close friend of mine.

First got into the game with the community from the defy pub server back when we still needed server plugins to get rid of crits. Made a TWL Ladder team with them. Past that though, the chaaz^/boogie is the one who got me invested and become more serious about moving up in the game.

started playing TF2 on ponyville.net's servers, at the time they had 2 highlander teams. I started my own with some people from the PV forums, and played pyro. I was the worst player on the team and we ended up winning half our matches from forfeit win, and losing all the rest.
eventually we started a 6v6 team with some players from our highlander team and after I left that team i started getting serious into comp 6s.

One day I was playing in our regular pub and I noticed that he's flying all over place doing fancy wall jumps and strafing, so I asked him on steam "how are you doing that?"

He took me to Jujump iT and spent half an hour watching me fumble through the easiest wall jumps and pogos before we cleared stage A and he left me to practice.

I haven't really gotten much better at jumping since, but I'm always grateful to him for introducing me to this format.
