My experience with a quickfix is that I enjoy playing as a medic even more now.
The neccessary buff of the gun of 50% is really making it a viable target in 6's or even Highlander. There really isn't a reason to just simply dismiss as an OP weapon and ban it because of flying medics or "changing the meta."
Also the quickfix is easy to counter honestly . I'm pretty sure all of you quickfix medics have died from sticky traps, focused firing, and so forth. Plus it doesn't protect you at all from instant crit weapons like axtinguisher and so forth.
And look at it this way as well, if your team is holding last due to all of you being wiped out. One of the "better" choices of a medigun would be a quickfix because... one, you could build it at tremendous speed and two, you could "potentially" survive an uber push.
Maybe that would frustrate a few peeps and so forth, but the quickfix can be a very viable choice in the competitive and improve the meta.
Btw, I understand my soldiers and demos more now since the quickfix does involve tons of communication and knowing their plays. In my honest opinion, quickfix can improve teamwork just as well as a medigun or kritzkrieg would.
tl;dr
Quickfix is damn fun to play with with shares of its ups and downs. It shouldn't be looked as an OP weapon, but as something that could potentially improve the meta. And I will keep using the damn thing until I know everything about it. <3
*edit* Wow, I'm using "so forth" a lot. Sorry about that.

QF on mids also puts your flank at a pretty noticeable health disadvantage. On gully, metalworks, process and badlands (only maps we've QF'd on so far) your scouts usually get into their first engagement at 130-ish health (vs 165-ish on a 185 health one) and your roamer has about 50 less than a full over-healed one. While QF does get stronger as the fight goes on, the initial health advantage of running uber/kritz, if pressed, can be pretty effective.

fsXDUber < Kritz
in a uber v kritz situation, who wins? uber. (obviously if you drop the medic with kritz its different, but in general, uber > kritz)
valve wants people to use other weapons. thats why they buffed the QF, winger, etc. They want people to use something other than the escape plan, so they made it harder to use.

The Quick Fix should be banned until next season due to its mid-season change and then re-evaluated during the off season(just like a mid season unlock). The new Quick Fix drastically changes the pacing of 6v6 and it needs to have a proper look at before being put into the league.
I'm not saying I hate the thing, or it should be banned forever. But it shouldn't be thrown in during a season, it should be evaluated during the off season and (hopefully) be introduced in the next season.
Until a decision is made, we will be practicing playing with Quick Fix and seeing what ways you can play against it with Kritz and Uber. Currently it seems that using Kritz is the only effective medi-gun you can run against it. But even then, its only slightly effective.

fsXDThe quickfix isn't broken, kritz will always counter it, if you can aim that is, and any team that can focus fire can outdamage the heal rate.
The quickfix has a very heavy pro and con list compared to the other medigun too.
Kritz > Quickfix
Uber = Quickfix
Uber < Kritz
This.
There is nothing OP about the quickfix, it forces you to rush your ubers and have your pocket and medic fly deep into enemy territory, which can easily be countered if you expect it. Not to mention your team doesn't have full buffs going into every fight. Kritz is a strong counter to QF and any coordinated team would easily be able to use it effectively against the QF. UBER STILL REMAINS NUMBER ONE. The argument that you jump away from a uber is a good one but, that's if your able to commit hard enough to make them pop and still have enough time to get away without losing most your team in the process(its very risky whereas the medigun isnt). That being said, it doesn't mean the QF can't have it's own strategies that could make it easily a strong medigun

I'm a QF proponent for sure. I think it's going to freshen up the game, and there will be some teams who run it almost exclusively, but for the majority of people it'll be used a little less than kritz is, to throw a different look at teams. It'll be my medigun of choice if my team wipes at mid, for sure. It's still really easy to focus down targets who are QF'ed. Teams seem to be treating QF ubers like they're kritzes, where you focus the damage dealer first. It's really easy to kill a QF'ed medic with focus fire and traps, and after the medic is dead, you're left with a half-buffed soldier/scout/demo to contend with. QF is incredibly easy to counter as long as you know it's coming. If you can't scout out the uber that the other team is on properly, then that's a skill you need to learn. It's kinda hard to miss a QF medic though, he's usually flying through the air or running alongside his scouts.
All that said, it's really silly that it was allowed this season. It's going to put a tint on playoffs/LAN, as right now the QF clearly favors the team with better DM, as others in the thread have said. I would have much preferred an offseason to work all of this out and see the QF used to its actual potential rather than just as an excuse to turn every push/hold into a messy DM-fest.

Firstly, I am in support of the quick fix. I think it would definitely be fair to remove the ability to cap while quickfixed.
Even as an advocate of the weapon, it should have been banned until next season. However, as it was not, and has already been used in a match that had LAN implications, it would also be silly to ban it now. It would be unfair to mad men, as they were eliminated from LAN contention by an opponent that was using the QF.
tl;dr
it is a bit of a mess but I believe the best action at this point is no action.

To everyone that says you can simply jump away from a kritz:
That's not true. There's a lot of places where combos hold in which you just can't jump away with the quick-fix. The best exemple is pretty much every lobby before last, or just most last points. If you're holding lobby on gully, and they kritz, you just can't jump away.

Don't forget you need perfect reaction speeds and have to be in the right position when the Kritz / jump happens otherwise the Medic will just go flailing off to one side.

I think it's situational, which seems like a side-grade. Some teams will run it more (mixup) because of strong pocket play/cohesion between medic and pocket, which raises the weapons effectiveness by quite a bit. A random player wont go pick up the QF and suddenly become better because of the power of the weapon -- it's exponentially better in the hands of the skilled/those who practice with it a lot.
I think that's good. I want to see dynamic combo plays that make me scream stupid things.

I don't know if you could actually do this but clear the stickies on blands last and pyro quickfix uber on point and just cap it. people would try to block but you just m2 them away

I wonder how many people arguing that only kritz can counter it have actually used the QF since the buff - like personally used it, not just played against it. I've had QF pushes with uber advantage fail just as regularly as uber stalemates because of focus fire - and not just on me as a medic, but on my pocket at 250; heck, I even had a buffed heavy die because of focus fire. QF still lets you take damage, and unlike the Kritz you can't counter their focus fire with 200+damage stickies. There's threat from it, but it's significantly less because it's still essentially a much weaker version of stock uber.
However, it's revitalized my interest and excitement for the class. It's no longer a matter of 2 mediguns, where one is only useful if you use it just right. Now there is a rock/paper/scissors meta to medic where Quick Fix can counter uber because of the faster charge, Kritz counters Quick Fix because of crit stickies on the medic, and Uber counters Kritz because it can completely negate damage - but if the other team screws up somehow, those advantages can completely reverse. Personally, that's the most exciting thing about the changes to me: the meta is so dynamic that there's no perfect, this beats that every time medigun.

I still stand by what i said, just because it's fun to have the medic fly in with you still makes it a sloppily implemented mechanic, and it was only added to make people use the qf before it got the buff. It's just a ridiculous stat. Bad positioning as medic isn't nearly as punished, the medic's mobility is just obnoxious to play against.
Other than that the qf is interesting and helps out with stalemates, adding a new element of strategy and gives a team who wiped at mid a chance to defend last, BUT it needs testing to see if it is op, just like every other weapon ever.

Why? Because they're hard to kill? I just said a kritz or a focus gives you a better advantage against QF than against kritz.
Because it makes the game faster? Isn't that what we've been wanting for months?
Because it changes the meta? God forbid we make the game more dynamic.

i think its kind of silly that we allowed the buff to be played in the viaduct matches, when we really didnt know if it was op or not. some of those viaduct matches had pretty important effects on the standings and qf was pretty damn effective on the map (and people knew it would be).

TaggerungThe Quick Fix should be banned until next season due to its mid-season change and then re-evaluated during the off season(just like a mid season unlock).
Isn't HRG the team that, in post-game interviews, was claiming the new quick-fix was still garbage and shade would "never run it"? We start running it for the past two weeks, and suddenly HRG members start showing up posting about how new unlocks mid-season should be banned? You're all a bit late. The decision was already made when it was legal for lan-deciding matches (rip mad men).
The quick-fix places a lot more responsibility on your combo than the rest of your team. It works for us because we were already a team that was based around our pocket. Every other team in invite (with the exception of AG) places a much greater emphasis on their demoman, so we're just taking our playstyle even further by giving our combo more power. It's a different way to play, but it's not necessarily better. We're still not even that good with it, considering it has so much potential. I can't wait to see how teams will end up using it next season.

There was a downside of the quick fix that someone was talking about in Tri's stream. clockwork and boomer said something like how they never died to scout 1v1s because they would have a fresh 185 hp buff while the enemy scouts could only have 155 max.

Quick fix adds a TON of strategy to medic and also increases the skill cap of the players because of the coordination/timing to execute rollouts/jumps. In the two weeks of play we got to use it I already saw a bunch of rock/paper/scissors type stuff happening with the 3 mediguns.
It adds a lot to the game and makes playing medic more fun which is a huge plus. There is zero reason it should be banned.

ShroomsyClandestinePzbscrock, paper, scissors
because everyone knows rock paper scissors is the perfect competitive game
tf2 needed more rng
How is that rng?
Because in rock paper scissors neither player knows what the other is going to throw, which makes the game random. It's a stupid comparison because it's not hard to figure out what medigun the other team is using and react to it accordingly.
Anticipating your opponents actions is difficult, but definitely not random. The only mechanic in this game which is truly rng is the random crit system (which is obviously disabled in competitive).
I would also say that it is an exaggeration to say that the new meta is rock, paper, scissors anyway. Each medigun may have its own strengths and weaknesses, buts its not as black and white as most people are making out. From what I've seen Uber can beat quickfix and quickfix can beat kritz, its just a matter of playing it right.
I for one am excited to see how this new meta develops.
