Camus"tri" trash talk thread against mad men.
Not donating a single dollar, :3
You are literally fucking retarded if you're going to hold a grudge against tri because of that thread.
Also your gay catface at the end makes you look like a butthurt faggot.

BubberkillNo hate but why isnt it a requirement to Invite that you have to able to pay for LAN tickets to make sure no-one no shows??
It is a requirement. If your team fails to show, the team gets banned for a season. These guys are just trying to recuperate and break even. I didn't like it in the past when every LAN team begged for donations, but if they're willing to offer things in return, I think it's fine. They will still go to LAN if they don't break even.

LanterNIf you live in Canada or even in the US you'll end up spending more money than you would make if you got 1st place. All of that air fair coming from your own pocket. Some people don't have the money to do that.
I have nothing against the team and believe me, i cant afford it myself, but why play for a LAN spot if you need help paying for it??
Why not give a team that can afford it a chance to play on the big scene

On the flip side, why pay for a lan spot if you havent earned it through playing for it? While i dont really think donation drives are a very sustainable way to get teams to LAN and the lack of funds aside from community donations will probably contribute to this game dying or being continuously irrelevant; as it stands now, with no sponsors and no way for teams to earn money by other means, donation drives are the only real option.

I dont want a pay2win system but let them have fun, it just seems that so many want a donation drives for stuff like this, why compete for something you know you can't get to do with a huge effort for the community

Donating to get yelled at by clockwork sounds like a great offer. I'll think about it. Sadly I have to be a top donator though ;(

Nobody's forcing you to donate, if you think that donation drives are stupid then don't complain because everybody's going to rat you out for it.

That isn't how a pay 2 win system works, first off.
And like some of the other people said (including from tri hards), they're still going, this just makes it easier to do so. No one on both sides of this are under any delusion.

I know what p2w means, i just meant that the teams that would be able to go but havent qualified should have some show matches
RagorismI get the feeling that you have no idea what you're even talking about.
Do i ever?? Nope

because there would be no invite
And not just for TF2, CSGO wouldn't have one either. There's not even a real European division this LAN; one team does not count.

Ehhh... The Invite pot did rise by 3000$ this season. Not saying that it will happen again next season but this game isn't dying in terms of people playing.

tri_Every donation helps, and the top donor will receive a voucher (after LAN) for a single mentoring session from clockwork[br0]. Clockwork will sit in mumble with you for one hour of pugs and/or scrims. He won't give you gameplay advice, but every time you die in game he will complain on your behalf about
- how dumb this game is
- how bad pistol reg is
- how stupid that soldier had to have been to kill you from that angle
- how a soldier can literally look at one spot and let go of his mouse but kill you by holding down +attack
- how fucking stupid the other team is
This prize is only redeemable by scout mains or people who play scout in at least pug.na. If you play soldier the alternate prize is clockwork insulting you in mumble for an hour.
Thanks for all your help. You guys are awesome and I love everyone except blaze
Masoquistic soldier main comin' in, clock gimme all you got

They only raised it this season because of the bitcoin incident.

I'm pretty sure they raised the prize pot initially before the bitcoins, then bumped it up a bit after.

None of the mined bitcoin money got added to the TF2 prize pool and I think it's because it was the off season so no TF2 player was effected by it, unless they played a cs pug.
Vods are up, if people didn't already know. Just checked. http://www.twitch.tv/tri_/profile/pastBroadcasts

It's called competitive TF2. If you just let people who could afford to fly to lans 2-3 times a year you'd have a not-so-competitive season and LAN (or a lot of pubbers who want the lan experience). It also would render the term "invite" useless if you aren't inviting the best to play.

what the fuck?
Anyhow, if there's a team I will donate to (I never fucking donate to those things) it will be tri hards. Some of the chillest people you can play tf2 with and talk to.

My favorite LAN memory:
S12 LAN and tri's team were just eliminated. The team goes up to Craig to get their checks for 4th place. Craig looks up how much of 4th place prize pot was used to get them there.
"You actually owe us 23 dollars"
Couldn't stop laughing.
