I've got a really shitty mouse/mousepad combo, and I'd love to upgrade. Only problem is I can't find a consistent opion anywhere. Half the people say puretrack talent is the best, other half say puretrack sucks get the goliathus. Lots of people say g400 has accel, other people swear by it etc.
My hand is 7.5 inches from bottom of my palm to the tip of my middle finger, I use a palm grip, and I'm currently using 800 DPI. Suggest me a mouse and a mouse pad that works well with it. I have tons of space on my desk, don't need to worry about size.

DA + QCK+ is good but you can't get 800 dpi unless you use that synapse shit which i don't trust. Otherwise i'd swear by it, goliathus control is good to, its really just what you buy and get used to first imo.

My hands are only a bit larger than yours and I use a similar grip. I'm thoroughly enjoying the Zowie AM with a puretrak talent pad. I use a substantially higher sensitivity than it sounds like you use, but there seems to be zero acceleration and flawless tracking with this combo. The DPI will be higher than 800, but DPI is a gimmick anyway. Just lower your sensitivity to make up for the difference.

High DPI is a gimmick, DPI itself isn't a gimmick.
I've had an MX518 for years and it's great. 2 side buttons, DPI changing buttons on top (disableable if you don't want them).
But I'm getting ready to get a new mouse, and I'd highly recommend you wait and try:

This thread is relevant to my interest as I'm currently in the same situation. I have a Deathadder and a stock mousepad and need to decide to get either a Qck, a Goliathus or a Talent, I've read a lot of frags towars Qck and Goliathus so I'd like to know what Talent users have to say.

If you use the DeathAdder I find the Goliathus keeps tracking better longer then the talent once they both start to get a bit dirty or dusty.
I would stick to the speed version as it's silky smooth where the control version has a lot of dips in it which I find dirt gets stuck in easier and then messes up the tracking of the sensor.

G400 doesn't have any issues with acceleration? Everybody seems to mention it has prediction but it has been fixed, on G400s with a PID >13333.

g400 doesn't have prediction assuming you are buying it new.

Also Logitech customer support is amazing. They will basically send you a replacement mouse no questions asked. I had a cord get a bit damaged on a previous mouse that made the mousewheel lose some responsiveness. They sent me a brand new one and I didn't even have to send the original back. This was after using it for over a year as well. Turned a "crap I have to buy another mouse" into "awesome, consider me a lifetime customer".

Go for G400 and Razer Goliathus Control or Speed edition that's up to you really. I'm using the Control edition and I'm pretty much satisfied with it.

G400. You can turn off mouse accel with the software. Only thing is you want to take care of its wire, mine is fucked up and I have to buy a new mouse now. I'm going with the Zowie AM because I lift my mouse up a lot and play on a low sensi.

I think you can't go wrong with the G400 on a good cloth pad like the Goliathus or Talent. Keep in mind the Goliathus Control and I think the Talent will both be "slower" surfaces than the QcK, though the Talent may be faster than the QcK, can't remember. Both are great pads, and you'll love both of 'em.
My recommendation goes with the Talent. Been using it for 2 years, just now machine washed it (and it does hold up to it's claim, thing feels new).

i was actually extremely disappointed with the g400. so much so that i had to switch back to my cm storm spawn. it's simply too heavy and bulky.
does anyone have a mouse recommendation for a smaller, more nimble mouse? my mouse is getting worn out and i feel like droppin some cash

its all preference
So imo I dont like the Qck+ cause its too slow. Its def. slower than the talent and pretty sure its slower than the goliathus control but I never used the control. I dont like the Talent cause the edges arent stitched and my wrist peels off the surface in less than a week, also its really thick and kind of spongy. I like the Goliathus speed. Zowie G-TF speed is also really good. Its amazing at not absorbing moisture if youre grose/nervous/sweaty, but its hard to get.
mouse feet are pretty important too, can match them to the mousepad to get the right feel. puretrak HD are really fast, hyperglides are pretty fast, and normal puretrak (perfect glide) are pretty slow. stock teflon feet are usually medium speed, between hyperglides and normal puretrak.
for mouse idk. I like oldschool m$. I still use a silver 3.0 from like 2001 even though I own about 20 mice. it just feels proper
=)

g400, deathadder, (wmo, 1.1, 3.0 as long as you overclock) are all pretty much perfect sensor wise. No accel, jitter, or correction and above average malfunction speeds.
For mousepads if you're just looking for a nice smooth glide, talent and goliathus speed are very similar, but I feel the speed is just a bit smoother and more durable.

agreeing with speed feeling a bit better than puretrak talent; control was pretty cool, but it wasnt comfortable on my wrist since it's knit all funny and shit

I have a Deathadder and a QCK rough. Love the deathadder and have had it for 5 years now. The QCK rough is a bit over the top though and my hand bled once in a ESEA match.

just something i noticed with the DA vs other mouses.
It's got a slower click time? I consistently get ~20ms higher on reaction tests vs wmo/IME/Logitech g5/g700.
There was a neat graph with data of a huge list of mouses and their "latency" on OCN, but I can't find it anymore..

i'm currently using the steelseries sensei and i find it to be a really good mouse. It has no accel, doesnt twitch around ever and is the most customizable mouse ever. It is a bit pricey but i think the features kind of justify the price so i would recommend it if your just looking for something outside the deathadder or g400. Im using it with the steelseries mousepad and i find they work great together. Hope this helps!
