it's incredible to see how one of the most exciting games to watch can turn into the most boring one to watch.
90% of the people in this thread were the idiots that sided with Mixup and didn't think the new quick fix, which is essentially a new weapon shouldn't have been banned until the next season.
Regardless as to how boring this LAN is (and it is boring), I still don't understand the logic of the community.

mario"because of how much easier it makes medic" Haha, NO.
how does it not make medic easier? while yes, you have to communicate with your heal target (which really is not that difficult, at least not for my team) and you have some unfortunate times where you get jumped away the quick fix also means
-less impact of crit heals/health pack distribution
-easier to have "good" healing micro (eg who you heal first, for how long, then who)
-no need to know how to build charge while keeping good buffs
-less importance of charge advantage between two medics
trust me. if you ask people who play medic or at least understand the class, quick fix makes it a lot easier.

because people bandwagon and didn't understand the true influence of how much an impact the QF can have. me and defy both created discussions on banning QF when it was first buffed (on the first day actually, lul). I posted on UGC and he posted here and both of us received horrible arguments basically that it's "fun" and "new".
probably tf2's worst lan in history has shown that it's not fun to play or watch and that its impacts go farther than initially considered, because most people can't think past "this is new and interesting, give it a shot". we gave it a shot-- the best teams in NA wasted their time stalemating at LAN with it. now let's ban it and stop wasting everyone's time and money.

Should ban it right now make the grand finales more interesting.
It's fun when there are no heavies involved, needs reworking though so you have handicapped capping power or something. It's basically a direct upgrade from uber right now. Playing sniper is always fun ^^

This ain't NASCAR now come on...

gentleman's agreement to not run QF for the Grand Finals maybe.
An hour ago, I thought the quick fix next season would be fun.
Mix^ vs HRG, now I realized it's true potential..
the most boring stalemate ever.

It's pretty situational IMO. (ref: Extine + Sal's convo at Valve) How have suddenly decided that 6s TF2 has already reached the pinnacle of evolution and needs no more tweaks? Valve forbid, they may release a map that changes the way 5 CP or Koth is played. So what? We adapt, adopt and learn. That's the only way this game will remain playable and sustainable.
I'm going to stop it at page 2 but seriously guys.
Shout-outs to hellbent and bsc for being right

ehh I was kind of afraid of this. I still think QF is one of the best things to happen to the game in a while but it definitely needs some changes.
So instead of 10 pages of people doing a complete 180 from a month ago, can we compile a list of changes we'd like to see to email Valve so we don't just ban it and go back to our corner like everyone thinks we do?
I think:
-No capping while ubered. I don't think anyone is arguing about that.
-Remove knockback invulnerability. Why did it get this in the first place?
-Remove overheal for the Medic. Medic vulnerability is the penalty for faster charge (like kritz)
-Decrease megaheal rate, at the very least on medic. To the point that other classes are capable of out DPSing the quick fix megaheal

then it is literally not the quick fix anymore. valve is not going to nerf a weapon that they just buffed this extremely. the only solution and the BEST and EASIEST solution is to just fucking ban it and hope i49 can salvage comp tf2

Valve should make it so that the Quick-Fix either:
1. Doesn't allow ubered players to cap.
2. Has a slower build rate instead of constantly having max build rate.
3. Nerf healing rate (which kills the point of the Quick-Fix).
4. Quick-Fix ubers "expire" after a certain amount of time, similar to the Aegis in Dota 2.
how 2 read earlier posts??

It was the quick fix before they added all of that why wouldn't it be the quick fix after they take it away too? If you haven't noticed Valve has taken a bit of an interest in competitive players opinions on weapon balance. And if you expected every change to be perfect the first time you're crazy. Everyone loved the quick fix until heavy became involved. It's worth the effort to get it fixed.
Sometimes I think the average players perception of competitive tf2 is incredibly unfair and then I'm reminded why it's not.

right and no one used the quick fix before. nerfing it to its old standards would make it undesirable again. banning it is the faster more effective solution-- why waste time trying to lobby valve to consider our opinion and force a change when we can control comp meta and maintain a certain standard by implementing league bans

The community just bandwagons on other people's opinions without trying things for themselves, the reason people don't like the quick fix now is because it's actually being used and standard instead of just a concept.
Take almost every single map voted in ever. TLR says standin is a super fun map (EARLY standin), everyone votes in standin. The general consensus is the map has issues and gets voted out instantly next season. Why was it voted in the first place? No one even tested it and just based it off theories and other opinions. Then we have cp_ashville "this map is cool, I like ashville." Map gets voted out next season and called a giant stalemate by the same players that voted it in.
Honestly, the community shouldn't even be allowed to vote at this point because no one even tests the things they vote on.

allowing the QF mid season was not a good move. that being said, the way this game sped up towards the end should tell us that we need to give it more time and see if teams find an effective counter that doesn't involve fucking heavies.
the QF build rate should be the same as kritz.
it builds so fast that if you fail running ordinary uber against it, you will lose the round.

what happens is, these teams scrim against quickfix and get destroyed or bandwagon with hrg in being afraid of mixup using quickfix and say its op.
i'm sure if hrg wins lan they wont say its overpowered

A haiku:
TF2 is slow
Enter quickfix fast fun play
God what have we done

its the same : 32 secs at max rate. qf builds faster only because it does not overheal to 150% and thus palyers don't nned to build

this is like bronze league players in SC2 arguing about balance and that certain races are overpowered.
if the issue with quickfix is heavy, then ban heavy. why is that suggestion never offered?

the problem here seems to be heavy and how heavy interacts with QF, the really abusive strats never show up until something major is on the line
sherman_gluckif the issue with quickfix is heavy, then ban heavy. why is that suggestion never offered?
Because TF2 with heavy, but no quickfix is a lot more fun to play and watch than the opposite option.

we've brought up banning heavy plenty of times, it's usually shot-down by people who think that banning classes entirely is ridiculous and just distances us further from pub players
not my opinion but that's usually how the discussion goes

I know running the quickfix allows you to play at a higher level while doing the one 'strategy' you know (+forward).
And I know how much you want to roll open with a quickfix and your w key, but I hope people will recognize how much the quickfix degrades tf2.

because tf2 has been played with heavy since its inception pretty much and quick fix which got buffed 3 weeks ago has effectively ruined an entire lan. logic-- if it ain't broken don't fix it. why try messing with the system again when we already know what works
