So I've noticed that my Scout DM in scrims/matches is far worse than my MGE DM. I end up doing really shitty and just mashing adadadadadada and being a twitchy little shit in scrims and matches. But in MGE, I have good movement, and steady aim. Anyone else have this problem? How do you have constant DM in scrims/matches?
this is because mge helps you get good at mge, play pugs if you want to do well in 6v6
dm helps with this too because its less 1v1s

youre probably under a lot less stress in mge and dm than you are in scrims and matches. also the places where you fight, the situations you fight in, and other factors add to them being entirely different.
honestly mge is pretty much just for fun and getting used to a new sens, as much as I enjoy it

just dont mge if its making you worse...
when you mge youre only against one guy and there are no interruptions unlike a real game
which is probably why you feel more focused in mge

Don't use MGE to try and improve your game. If anything, you'll probably end up building bad habits if you try and apply MGE play into comp play. The mindset used in MGE and scrims/matches are too drastically different to try and synchronize. I know for a fact that MGE is a big culprit for my tunnel-visioning problem. Rather, use it as a warm up tool and don't waste too much energy on it. Scrim, pug, and demo review. Those are probably the best ways to evaluate and improve your performance.

i do not agree with this
after mgeing soldiers as scout a shitload on mge, I feel I've gotten a lot more confident in 6v6 just dodging projectiles and shit

give it time, i felt that way at first too.
it will eventually translate and you'll see that the way you dm in mge and in games are very similar, just play more

thats because playing me for an hour a day is a confidence booster for ANYBODY
@topic in mge theres no timelimit for killing somebody, and no real negative repercussions if you fuck up so theres a lot more pressure/situational shit going on
i would say that mirror matchups in mge do much less to help you vs scout v soldier

Movement in mge is way different than in a real game. In mge you you dont have to worry about dodging projectiles and being unpredictable for hitscan at the same time. In a game though, you have to dodge rockets while also not giving scouts easy shots on you.
There are also some tricks you might be using in mge that don't work well in a real game. keep in mind that most scout 1st happen at close range when neither of them expect it and end fairly quickly. In mge though both scouts usually start off on opposite ends of the map and spend most of the time at medium range.

MGE and DM less. Go over demos and think more.
You might be playing too much. Do more in less time and it'll help you get better.

The point of MGE and DM is to put yourself in optimal DM situations constantly. That doesn't happen in actual matches/scrims. Not every fight happens on mid.
When I play MGE I just hold W into the other guy since in pugs/scrims/matches all I ever did was hold W. You have to replicate your play-style, not play MGE to win MGE. The greatest thing you can learn from MGE is aim consistency, if you find you are moving different in and out of MGE, you should immediately try and fix that. Either break-down what movement/positioning makes you successful at MGE and try to always put yourself in those types of situations in scrims, or figure out what movement/positioning is a weak point for you in scrims and try to replicate those scenarios in MGE 1v1's.
Winning an MGE 1v1 is far over-hyped. I believe many invite players or well known players play MGE on aliases for the simple reason that they want to practice, not be pressured to try and win.
One last thing to pay attention to is that MGE puts you at a buff at the start of nearly every 1v1, this is certainly not going to be the case in a 6v6 setting, so you need to play accordingly.

Well, I am horrible at MGE, but it's not all dm skills that will win you a match. Strategies, awareness, etc. all play a huge role.
there's a good chance you're not playing smart in scrims/matches. I tend to tear shit up in DM as scout, but when I play a scrim/match, I play shitty because the 6 man team I'm playing against is communicating with each other and positioning themselves in a manner that makes it nearly impossible for a scout to run up behind them and shoot all six of their butts to death.
A lot of MGE and DM makes you overestimate your strength in 6v6 games because the most important factor in the former arenas is aim whereas in matches it's timing, communication and positioning. So you take fights you shouldn't.
I would DM over MGE if you want to be a good 6v6 team scout. You can practice avoiding damage when the enemy targets you, and focus fire on the enemy when he's targeting someone else. This is best done in pairs or more. Practice running back through your team when multiple people are targeting you and draw one to his death. An indirect kill is just as good as a direct one.

I had the problem that I would get ok fps in mge but in DM/scrims I would get a steady 15 if I was lucky
Good/steady fps solves that problem

there's a lot more to scrims/matches than pure DM.
certainly, DM helps you mow through--but gamesense may determine which team will win if DM is arbitrary.
also, in scrims/matches, it's going to be a team-based frontier. whereas, in MGE, it's all about 1v1.
