We have added some more unlocks we feel can add to the game without breaking it. This is a provisional list and can be subject to change.
The provisional list of allowed unlocks in Season 17 is as follows:

- The Übersaw

- The Overdose
- The Gunboats
- The Boston Basher
- The Pain Train

The new map pool:
We removed metalworks due to some poor feedback, and general dislike of the map. We replaced it with koth_coalplant_b6, which some of you might be familiar with and has some good feedback. No other changes to note.- Week 1: cp_granary/cp_gullywash_final1
- Week 2: cp_gullywash_final1/cp_badlands
- Week 3: cp_badlands/koth_coalplant_b6
- Week 4: koth_coalplant_b6/cp_process_final
- Week 5: cp_process_final/koth_pro_viaduct_rc4
- Week 6: koth_pro_viaduct_rc4/cp_snakewater_final1
- Week 7: cp_snakewater_final1/cp_granary
I'm liking the new unlocks but the fact that they removed metalworks breaks my heart :,(.
Glad that coalplant made it in, sad that new maps like cp_sunshine didn't get a go.
What do you guys think?

I didn't watch european TF2 this season because the vanillatv youtube channel is dead ;_;, I lost track of all the teams.

But TF.TV is doing an amazing job of keeping track of the European scene :(, have all the vod's on their youtube channel, why rely on VTV?

Sunshine isn't ready, it needs a little more work done on it. Like those ugly rocks on mid.

i49 was the grand finale for a good few of our people at VTV, most of our best casters are either taking a break or have left the scene altogether. Along with that, I personally can't stream any more and Byte played this season so he couldn't cast. We have had reasonable coverage of ETF2L Highlander Season 5 mostly thanks to SuddenlyStarMia's efforts in organising those casts. I don't know what our plans for Season 17 are yet, so stay tuned to find out.

I know for a fact that between me and jon as many of the games will get casted as possible.
Either on blackout or on tftv. I just hope we can at least find another caster so you don't have to put up with my mediocre solo casting the entire season.

Coalplant looks interesting and I'm relieved that Metalworks is out, but I'm really not sure about the new unlocks. Loose Cannon and FaN are fine but my understanding of the solider banners is that they only really work when your team is already winning, or at least that's what I gather from HL. Breaking stalemates is fine if it's something both teams can do but realistically if you're holding last point you're not going to be able to whip out a buff banner and push out just like that.

Sorry for the offtopic, but Ryushi, just wanted to let you know you didn't get near enough recognition this last season, you were spot on, really amazing, the majority of the casts I tuned in, you were there doing an outstanding job. The caster of the season results dont really reflect the amount of work you put in, I voted for you :)
Hope you keep doing what you're doing because this season you really stood out for me. Of course this is not discrediting the other casters which did an awesome job as well but you came out of nowhere (for me at least) and I have yet to see a bad cast from you.

Unlocks look fun, although I suspect widowmaker and diamondback will have very rare but extremely rage-inducing plays. Kind of disappointed that metalworks was swapped out for coalplant instead of something like granary - it might just be my no-div shitter experience level but I've always found metalworks to be a reasonably fun map.
