Gunboats up for vote?
Roamers in CEVO stay strong and make the right choice.
Gonna be surprised if anything besides the gunboats gets out of this vote unbanned.
Do you guys really want to deal with the battalions backup on KOTH? I know that most of you don't remember why it was banned, but it was op as shit and basically forced on viaduct if you wanted to win. Plus it got buffed since then.
All I see is talk from ESEA.
All I see is action from CEVO.

Yes voting on a whitelist very good action taken why doesn't esea have some sort of similar process hmmm very mystifying

Sorry to bring up ESEA transgressions, but I always thought it was a mistake for them to ban that weapon mid-season.
In my opinion the Battalions Backup being whipped out on Koth_Viaduct week was one of the most significant moments of meta innovation we've seen in TF2. A weapon that no one was touching all of a sudden became a must run and not because of balance changes by Valve... However, "No Exceptions" ESEA flipped the script and banned it half way through the map week, even though it was eXtremely doubtful that teams would have been running it on a 5-cp map.
It's a powerful strategy for KOTH, but should an item really be banned because it's very useful on one map?
^ Unfortunately the overall consensus is that more bans = better, which is a shame because I'd really love to see the soldier backpacks used for some huge plays and breaking chokes and stalemates. Even so, I fully expect everything besides Gunboats to be banned.
Everyone remembers the Plat Magic Conch play, I wish we could see more of that.

There are plenty of straight upgrades that people are "forced" to run or put themselves at a disadvantage, I don't see what the issue with that is. If it's an item that has no counter play, that's one thing, but if it just means the best way to counter it is to use it yourself, I don't think that's a huge issue.
Just a note-- some people have been telling me they get an error when they first click the link. If you have this problem but you know you should be able to vote just log out and log back in and it'll work! Sorry for any inconvenience

You can also try refreshing the page. That's worked for me every time CEVO gave me that message error.

ya theres definitely not a thread with esea giving out premium codes to anybody playing open or anything
Was the powerjack banned in esea cuz of a mid season change?
Also I'm really hoping heavy doesn't get banned.
why are the wrangler and short circuit being considered
what kind of sick person wouldn't want to ban them
and what kind of sick person would enjoy a metagame infested by sentries and stalemates
I hate to ask, but isn't it a little late to be screwing around with a whitelist this close to season start?
I really don't want this to turn into another United Sports Car Championship fiasco.
^ How could teams vote on item bans if registration were still open?
I'd rather play with a malware client (which it isn't) than play in a league where the admins even consider allowing wrangler and short circut. What a joke.

This being plus fragged so much makes it really obvious how little people are thinking for themselves.

does anyone have a beef with the esea whitelists
anyone????
eXtineHow could teams vote on item bans if registration were still open?
Not my point, the whitelist should have been set in stone before preseason. Then everybody knows what they're dealing with and can plan their strategies accordingly.

This was reactive, not proactive.
Can we get a link to the current whitelist, not including the ones being voted on? Is it just ESEAs whitelist?
Lol allowing people in open to have a say
In what unlocks are allowed. That'll give you some interesting results.
It looks like the CEVO whitelist actually has MORE weapons banned already then ESEA. The soldier backpacks are all whitelisted for ESEA (except of course since the buffs). I feel like the buffs to the Conch won't make much of a different. +2 HP regen per second is actually incredibly slow, and barely noticeable unless you stand out of the fight for a good minute or so...in which case you'd have a medic with you anyway.
Anyway, looks like CEVO will end up having even more weapons banned then ESEA by the end of this.
