Syberia 1-2, Worms Armageddon and Zuma are also do worth a try c:
super meat boy is really fun, umm risk of rain as well
N-Game is a great platformer!
ricrSoldat.
Oh wow I haven't heard about this game in years. I used to just play vs bots and stuff cuz nobody played online. It's a really cool game mechanically but it's probably not as fun as I remember it being.

Any bullet hell game is usually a good time waster, notably Danmaku Unlimited 2 and Jamestown on Steam. Touhou games if you're into them. Some newer iterations might not run very well on a bad PC though.
Descent
Descent 2
Torchlight/possibly TL2
Gunpoint
Braid
Duke Nukem
Duke Nukem II
Wolfenstein 3D
Serious Sam: The First Encounter
Serious Sam: The Second Encounter
Hitogata Happa, Jamestown.. There are all sorts of bullet hells that seem to run on toasters.
If you haven't yet played/beaten them, Half-Life and Half-Life 2
Flash games, Flash games, Flash games! http://kongregate.com
And if it will run, AWESOMENAUTS!

Roller Coaster Tycoon is my personal favorite blow off time at work game.
I also found the "I wanna be the ___" games were entertaining to play for a while during down time. I'd get frustrated after a bit and get back to work...

I remember when I thought RC Tycoon graphics were the most beautiful things that I had ever witnessed. God that game devoured entirely too much of my childhood afternoons.

AOE II man its gotta be.
you can waste your life into terraria
Since it's at work, I'd suggest hearts of iron 2 or Crusader kings 1 - along with a lot of gig and vortex mentioned.
When I've had the luxury of office jobs old paradox games come in really handy because they take forever to play anyways and pausing/unpausing isn't difficult and you don't find yourself getting lost or forgetting what was going on when last you alt-tabbed etc - or getting horribly painfully addicted and doing nothing for hours and hours.

After my computer started running TF2 on 0 FPS, I downloaded Painkiller off Steam and have loved it ever since. My computer chugs a little when there are a lot of enemies on screen, but it rarely happens and is manageable. Highly recommend it, good old fashioned fun. And easy enough to pause as well.
yukiHi there,
Started a new job and there are a lot of dull moments in my 1 (sometimes 2) man office unfortunately. Just looking for some games I can do to pass time and keep myself sane. FTL has already been suggested and I've already played a decent amount.
It's got an E5200 @2.5, 2 gigs of ram & some integrated GPU. I already attempted to search for a thread "games for bad pc" but didn't really have much luck.
thanks
Hope ur boss doesn't read this thread....

I know for a fact he will not. You're saying that as well assuming that my boss knows my online alias.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I can't believe I also forgot about emulators, so I will have to get around to some zsnes action or VBA. Going to also give Risk of Rain a try as well as some other goodies that I haven't got around to.

Minor threadjack but what are some examples of games that you would play if you had a better PC? I have a problem with not playing any other games but TF2 but have a decent computer
