I assume the base jumper was the reason that nerf happened at the time it did. Why they didn't put the sticky damage rampup on that item and then see how that goes is beyond me.
This still doesn't change the fact that communication from valve to the community is bad, be it discussion about planned nerfs or just customer support in general.

cyzerPeople should quit complaining that Valve doesn't listen, pretty flexible dev team all things considering
Honestly, this doesn't change my opinion of them that much. Either their playtesters are seriously bad at this game or they are just hilariously shortsighted to think that such a drastic change in a class's ability was acceptable. OK, they recognized their mistake, but it was a mistake that should not have happened in the first place and suggests something of an ignorance of the game's established dynamic.

TurinThose were always in gullywash dude.
my bad then, I knew that blue tank to hint at mann vs machine was there before in these kinds of areas but never knew that the trains were too, kinda makes you wonder why they put model trains in the skybox
hype is kill

r4ptureI liked the nerf only because it reminded me the ScotRes exist. Viable? Not compared to the stock. Fun? Oh fuck yes.
Fun fact:
ScoRes was more viable with it's release stats

Maybe they could slighty re-buff the SR along with the small SL nerfs to make it a somewhat viable sidegrade for certain situations.

They reduce the range of charged stickies or remove the charge up feature completely.

Valve is trying to nerf the stickybomb so peoples don't M1-M2 it, and removing the sticky charge would be horrible and useless in many ways.

While they're at it change Pyro's usual routine of weapon quickswitching for them crits.

Now we can say that they'll only listen as a result of a massive public backlash
Yeah, let's just change the game each time Ragor has a minor complaint, better system.

it's disingenuous to pretend that any of what transpired these past two days involved any "minor complaints".

There, it's fixed
Still a damage powerhouse, weak at close range
WariRampup doesn't apply to yourself. Stickies would do base self damage, but less damage to other players at close range.
And the line I added doesn't continue out to 1024+ units if that's what your saying, it follows the normal damage falloff equation for after 512 units.

They also gave it the retarded downside of .8seconds (it was .4 before) which kills any sort of offensive ability, and stickies didn't detonate beneath your feet when you detonated a sticky across the map.
Imagine being able to lay down a carpet of stickies that you could walk all over with no fear while still retaining the ability to at least do mediocre airbursting and get ok damage from it.
Oh and the viewmodel actually looked sexy when it was released

KanecoThese past few days I played some of the worst and most excruciating HL matches ever.
Probably because you were playing highlander. And probably because you, like most people who play this game, didn't adapt at all.

So you want a class that can do loads of damage without putting himself at risk of taking any damage?

I don't get it, is the point that I know highlander is trash because I've played a lot of highlander? Yes, that would be the case.
But no, have fun crying about your broken stickies being taken away and tf2 potentially becoming fun.
