Most of the elimination will be best of 3 - it's probably only the first round that isn't right now, assuming we're running on time. It's a tight schedule but we can just about squash lots of BO3 action in. Maps for that haven't been set yet either, so tba until after groups are done.

Apparently cbear said it starts at 5:30am on the stream tonight, if you go to the schedule it says "Dallas: 9am-5pm" and on the main i52 page it shows a countdown which says "0 days 11 hours 50 minutes and 7 seconds to go" which would mean i52 starts at like 3 PM CST. I'm just confused on what time the event actually starts since I've seen 3 different times.

Onv's an obnoxious cunt but I agree with the suggestion. Use free cam a bit because it's good to show the team positioning now and again.

freecam is hardly good for anything but the occasional midfight, where everyone has the potential to do something. not sure why you'd want a freecam on during a hold when you could be watching the pockets pov, an offclass play, roamer bomb etc. if you need to know the team positioning you can use the x-ray.

I *might* have fixed the ticker but it's hard to be sure, messing around with my system clock seems to produce consistent results now when it didn't before at least, hopefully it's improved for others.

Freecam is pretty much necessary in any decent camera work. It shouldn't be used full time, but in my opinion pretty much any minute where there isn't a direct fight should use freecam to show team positioning (unless there is a sniper or spy, then first person is better to capture the action).

Ideal camera work for me, is to have freecam on at a choke point during a stalemate, and when the first team starts to make a move (let them begin the attack for a few seconds), switch to an offensive target in first person. Unless there's something like a kritz in play, then you will want first person from the start of the play.

Watching the occasional fight in freecam is also acceptable, as it shows a different perspective to the viewers. Rather than looking at an individual talent, you can see the way an entire team works together as a unit. TF2 isn't the most impressive FPS game out there (in terms of looking through a player's crosshair) so it's nice to showcase a medic changing targets, and the movement of the entire team through the map. This is best captured in third person.

I think the push back against free cam is just that it's so damn hard to get right. You really can't mess up a first person cam, but any sort of weird angle or height can make a free cam segment look like ass. I think a lot of people would rather see a flawless cast in first person than a potential shitshow in freecam.

I'm all for the measured use of it, however. I agree that it can add a good perspective to a cast, especially for beginners who may not understand positioning as well.

I think freecam is unnecessary with the x-ray plugin personally. You can see positioning fine with that, and action is better with first person view anyway in my opinion
