Hi people,
I was wondering if any TF2 players would like to be interviewed for a school project. I am doing a project comparing the strategy behind Team Fortress 2 to strategy used by the military. I will primarily be talking about the 6s format, but I will start of by talking about the game in general. If anyone would be interested in taking part in this interview, or knows how I could get in touch with a person that would be glad to do an interview. We are really hoping to get a wide range of people such as map makers, casters, and players.
Although the interviews wouldn't be for a while because the project still needs to be planned, I need to know as soon as possible. Thanks
EDIT: Thanks to all of the people that offered to be a part of this. I have enough people to go through with the project, but more people are always welcome.

That's me - I should have space open.
Be aware that most of my knowledge of military stuff happens to directly relate to WW2 and not so much with the modern stuff - although I spent a year and some living with an officer reservist in the Nat Guard and we talked a bit lol.

I would be interested and think I can provide useful insight because I am much older than most of the community and have a whole lot more experience.
I am also a history buff focused on ancient warfare tactics so that seems like a fit. If interested

I would really like to help if possible. I have studied gorilla warfare tactics and, quite obviously, this can be related to the team fortress 2 spy class. I also have nearly a thousand hours on this class so I have a vast knowledge in espionage. Although it may not seem as realistic as the 6s competitive format, I believe firmly in the standpoint that a "spy" class can be extremely vital in the core of a military unit.

I do not mean to discredit you, but age should not dictate knowledge of this topic. Although I am only 14, (turning 15 in october) I am well educated in combat warfare and teamfortess 2.

actually, i would like to argue that competitive team fortress 2 cannot be related to ancient warfare tactics. it is pretty obvious that it is more relate-able to recent warfare, like vietnam and isis. i could go on but i'd rather save it for an interview .

I believe you got my references mixed up. I have been playing Team Fortress in one form or another since 1996, hence my experience in different game types as related to Team Fortress.
No offense to you, but since you are only 14, I have been playing competitive matches since before you were born. That doesn't make your POV wrong but you had my initial meaning incorrect.

I would disagree on that statement. All recent combat tactics were derived from ancient warfare and what we learned as time passed. Our generals and officers in training still learn from the tactics of ancient commanders and apply it to modern warfare.

I recently watched Saving Private Ryan which was directed by Steven Spilberg and starred Tom Hanks as the Private Ryan savior and that movie had a flamethrower scene and that was a military movie and I know that pyro has a flamethrower and with my vast amount of hours on pyro I can help you with your army building class.

After my social studies class today I decided to learn such topics. Spadecadet, you're obviously very knowledgeable in the study of primal warfare strategies, I was wondering if you could lay out some of the basic underlying principles for me so I can build a better understanding of modern warfare.
Don't be afraid to use larger, more convoluted terms as although I am only in 8th grade, I have a lot of time on my hands.

"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight!... ." Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it! And then he perfected it, so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor!
