So my zalman clip-on mic broke and I'm in need of a new one. I'd prefer something more durable with a bit better sound quality this time, and it'd be swell if I could buy it in the UK.

Also mic general, cause I found none.
I'll edit this later on, based on what people recommend, etc. You lot know the drill.

zalman cheapest, good quality, not that well built nor comfortable

modmic kinda expensive, great quality, well built, very comfortable

stand mics

studio mics (blue snowball, yeti/yeti pro, razer siren) the most expensive out of all, amazing quality, well built, bulky so it needs space

i wouldn't worry bout not being able to buy one of these in the UK

I had a modmic arrive DOA, take literally 2 months to get the second one, and that broke in under a week. don't really recommend.

my zalman zm1 has withstood a lot

I don't understand what happened with modmic's QC. I have a 1st generation model that has never given me trouble, but they seem to get less reliable with each new iteration (kinda like Logitech's mice, heh).

For high quality, stand mics, Blue Yeti is the way to go. If you wait for the right sales, you can get one for just a few dollars more than a Blue Snowball.

I am looking for a high quality mic for streaming that doesn't use a USB port. Any recommendations?

Budget is 150$.

Why, specifically, don't you want to use a USB mic? Your only other real option is getting an XLR mic, at which point you'd need to spend $100-150 alone on an audio interface (which itself would probably use USB or *maybe* PCI-express).

Just get a Snowball. It's the same price as a modmic.

Running other devices over USB causes input lag and polling rate inconsistency. The only thing i have plugged over USB rite now is my mouse.
I was thinking of getting a pcie USB card to run a mic/dac.

It's not noticeable. You'll be fine.
