gargleburryMr_OwlrAz3people paid for the season already
it wont be this season
If there isn't going to be another season of tf2 after this season i feel like most people will just quit esea. Most people have goals like me for instance, I wanted to make it to invite before quitting. If there isn't a possible way for me to do that then why even bother playing a next season? Plus since its a confirmed last season everyone would be throwing and no one would try there would be no competitive spirit.
If it's the last season I feel like people would try even harder to win, not throw (not that I believe it will be the last season anyway)

stop biting at the hands that feed us, they haven't missed a meal yet, and there is no proof they won't. they hav been running a tf2 league at a loss for all these years, we should support them into the future and wait for proof that they dropped us from their league before we come to conclusions.

I think if they were losing money they wouldve dropped us a whil ago, they probably break even or make marginal profits. but, yeah i think lpkane isnt a "bad" dude. He seems pretty chill at lan, he runs a tf2 divison with marginal profits, although he says some stupid shit online as most of of us do sometimes, i dont think the whole "i h8 lpkane becuz he h8s tf2" thing isnt getting us anywhere

DrPloxoSchweppesRainofLightthe fact tf2 isn't mentioned anywhere at all is more insulting than them just saying they cut tf2 from lan
I don't see why you think so, less than 2%(?) of esea's paying users are TF2 players, their tf2 section operates at a loss and it's an announcement of a huge partnership between ESEA and ESL specifically for csgo. I'm not implying TF2 is shit or anything because it's not, but the overwhelming majority of the people interested in this news don't care or don't know about esea's tf2 division
I'm pretty sure they "operating at a loss" thing has been shown to be wrong since 2013.

dashnerI lost the document but enigma crunched the numbers awhile ago that proved that ESEA loses money on TF2. I don't know where you're getting your info from Ploxo.
It was from the same thread a while ago, perhaps my memory is shitty now.

Got it.
This doesn't cover ad revenue (which may very well be trivial) and off season premium. Also, fees have been adjusted since.

s15 was a big season (and included main fees). i doubt they will be bringing in more player fees now than then.

they killed the tf2 section on esea news right before playoffs in season 15; they were going to keep coverage for invite, but bloodsire stopped writing and they presumably just didn't care to bother finding a replacement

Still a loss unless there's a Prize Pot difference or 99% of players actually register and pay fees for the whole season.

(I only factored in regular season, so 8 weeks/2months)
I guess I have a little egg on my face.

I didn't just stop writing. There had been no updates, no meetings, no communication for some time. When I did finally speak with someone it was clear they weren't going to be supporting the coverage anymore.

ah ok, you had always generally seemed like you were pretty busy with real life affairs, so I just assumed you had stepped back because of that since all I knew was what few said in his email to us.
Hey Guys,
I want to personally thank you for all of the time and dedication that you have put forth this season, but moving forward we will no longer be covering the lower divisions of ESEA TF2. We will continue to cover the Invite division and ESEA LAN.
It is a shame that they dropped the division as soon as they picked up an entire new writing staff though, but oh well I guess

alfaI don't think it has to do anything with one event or one person rather, but more with the fact that ESEA has been trashed on occasion including in the whole ESEA vs Cevo fiasco. Was nice seeing people at LAN every once in a while, rip.
at least one of those leagues didn't mine bitcoin on our computers

Nothing on TF2. It's Euro only moveups thus far.

I think that even if tf2 is dropped from ESEA, it'll get picked up by another league due to all of the attention that competitive matchmaking there's a really good chance that someone else will pick it up. And it'll be bigger than before
