Pyro needs his airblast reworked a little bit...
The big one is that your reflections are absolutely ruined if a teammate is clipping you. They will shoot in all kinds of wacky directions, including your face. Too many unintentional suicides while trying to save a teammate from a projectile, that shouldn't happen...
I think some projectiles still minicrit Pyro when reflected. Pills I believe are the main culprit, but this may have been fixed.
Also, the way airblast controls movement is a bit too easy right now. I believe it use to work in conjuction more with whatever your victim's current movement is, so they could still surf airblast a bit, but now it seems to reset their movement entirely. If airblast could work a bit like explosive knockback, that would really help. There's no reason a rocket jumping soldier going 999 hammer units per second or w/e should have their movement entirely reset when a Pyro airblasts them in the same direction they were already going. It feels counter-intuitive and it makes airblast too much of an aim assistant and crutch.
Also, the heavy nerfs were very dumb. Let's not forget those.
What if calling for Medic temporarily put a little marker above nearby Medic's heads so you can much more quickly find your combo? Duh, people should be able to keep up with where their combo is and communicate but if we're putting these formats in the hands of the general population... might be useful. Nothing worse than a lobby with a Medic who won't communicate and doesn't know the map / strats. Speaking of which, Medic probably needs a bit more incentive to play in these formats. Getting a Medic on both teams is always the hardest thing about starting a lobby. Maybe not a gameplay change, but perhaps Medic can help your ranking more than other classes, IDK.

Is the default interp high for a reason? If not, lets see if we can crank it down a few notches.
Valve is awesome.

The above pyro suggestion isn't a ping thing. It's an issue with how airblast targetting works.
Right now, when you airblast, say, a rocket, it finds whatever your crosshair is pointed at (potentially the inside of a teammate's model if you're inside one another) and aims the rocket at that point in space. Thus, if you are inside a dispenser or a teammate or something, you can redirect a rocket to yourself. This is also why you can airblast a RJ-ing soldier and he'll get hit no matter which direction he fires.
It should just note where in the airblast it was hit, and then travel from that point in the same direction you're looking.
Given that the client sends that exact information to the server with every packet, this should not be difficult to implement.

Reflections are also ruined if you're clipping with a friendly building.
Reflects have mini-crit the Pyro since Valve tried to fix reflects correctly counting towards stranges and killstreaks in February of 2014. They fixed rockets in June, but they have not fixed pills (and maybe not Sentry rockets either). That a Pyro takes more damage from a reflected pill than if it hadn't been reflected is insane. As the airblast "takes ownership" of what it reflects, the Pyro should gain the self-damage reduction—including the not taking crit/mini-crit self-damage.

Simply put, airblast should involve vector addition.
Edit: Nor should pyro be allowed to airblast rockets that would never hit them

BrimstoneSimply put, airblast should involve vector addition.
On players only.
I assume you meant that, but having it affect projectiles like that is silly.

Enable replays in valve servers?
Enable replays in valve servers?
_vittoEnable replays in valve servers?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think Replay being disabled is a bad bug if a bug at all - I mean, it doesn't affect gameplay to my knowledge.
And I mean, Valve servers are pubs and unrelated to competitive + I think they're doing just fine without Replay.

90% sure you still take minicrits from reflected grenades.

More frequently paying attention to broken and underpowered weapons. I know its something this community doesn't care about much but I feel like part of the reason valve wants to do this is to make the game easier to balance and an important part of that is making sure things like baby face's blaster and loch n load stay fair instead of being in their current state.
Keep in mind if valve is going to be doing this matchmaking thing they aren't going to be using esea configs, everything will probably be allowed.

Add an official deathmatch gamemode that you can play while you wait for teams to ready up.
Make it so that while you are waiting in queue you can still be in a non matchmaking server. This will make more people add up for matchmaking because they will still be able to have fun or practice while they wait.
add the official DM mode to quickplay with a little note that says this is meant for practicing. This will help players improve at faster rate than they will from playing pubs and will help them reach the skill floor necessary for having fun while playing matchmaking.

Thinking about it, there are so many mods of this game it's crazy.
You could add the option to search for specific servers with specific mods. Like in the search tab enable the option to search for surf, jump, mge mod, deathmatch, bball, dodgeball, that smash bro mod, saxton hale and other boss mod, or just a plain pub server.
They're all pub servers so no matchmaking obv.
For matchmaking, the biggest thing is can we end up playing 6v6 as we do currently through the matchmaking? That or is it possible to work towards that because I don't see many people bothering to play a butchered version of a very defined and worked out game mode.

Since this got dug back up:
Fall damage is always semi-random, even with damage spread disabled. A cvar for controlling it would be nice.

Professional Guides on each Map in a competitive format, it maybe useful to new players to understand in what to do in competitive. It would be helpful for everyone to easily pickup competitive rules/plays etc. It maybe too hard to implement since there's so much but it is essential because it just annoys everyone if you can't play.

Maybe give community items for TFTV/ToTH staff?

If someone has already mentioned my bad.
They should really optimize the game in term of FPS. Not just like being able to turn off the cosmetic shit that eats FPS but really take a look a cvars and graphical settings and optimize them like they've done with CS:GO. No one in that game has a problem with keeping a consistent 120 fps or having to use an extensive graphical config if they've built a computer in like the past 5 years.
It would make the game so much better to play for so many people that their 3 year old computer isn't running an 8 year old game at 100 fps or below anymore.

I would love to see things like handrails get looked at and make them all either have collision or have no collision with bullets and projectiles.
I woudlnt mind hitreg being looked at either.
