ElepimpSheepylolYeah ash should feel ashamed tbh. Pretty sad that the only way for froyotech to win anything is to have their scout rate hacking,
smh
i didn't see any rate hacking at i55 and esea playoffs. are you sure they need it to win?

TurinOnd_kajaSo tsc was catering to froyotech players by not enforcing a rule which doesn't exist?
the rule should have existed in the first place, like in other existing leagues.
what rule? a rule against rate hacking (which ash isn't doing) or a rule against having to play against laggy players (which no league has)?

i thought ash and tsu were boys? i know u niggas hopefully arent buggin that much over this tournament so why didn't ash just bounce from the match until his internet was cool and froyo could have just got a sub?

from the Fall Classic ruleset
Behavior which alters the natural flow of a respectable match will not be tolerated, this includes, but is not limited to cheating and the intentional losing of a game. Players caught cheating or tampering with matches will be immediately and permanently banned from Razer Arena.
I don't know enough about the situation one way or the other, but ambiguous language like that can easily be taken to mean behaviour just like this. I am not saying Ash cheated, and to be really honest, it doesn't really matter much for the purposes of this discussion. We cannot pretend that tsc couldn't have done something. Ambiguous language in rules exists solely for the purpose of league admins being able to make judgement calls about situations and what to do in them,
ESEA for instance, has this:
We reserve the right to change, modify, or adapt all rules as deemed appropriate by ESEA in order to uphold and maintain a spirit of overall fairness and good sportsmanship.
All players and teams are to uphold the spirit of fair play at all times.
Which is much better written, but if an admin were willing to take a stand and say that playing in the state that Ash did is a violation of the spirit of fairness and good sportsmanship, there is an enforceable clause in the rules. It does not take a leap of faith to suggest that playing in that state represented a material challenge to the natural flow of a respectable match.
Again, I do not know exactly what behaviour was done or what reasoning TSC had for his decision or if his privileged position with froyo did or did not affect his judgement. It is all completely immaterial. We cannot let tournament admins or community members get away with "oh well there were no rules against x" when clearly there was something an admin could make an actionable decision on.

even in esea I think it's really naive to expect anything to keep ash from playing, since the burden of proof is on you to show he's ratehacking and not just having bad internet
good luck actually proving that

This is the part that explicitly states that it is acceptable for them to contest ash playing. They have a day to make their case, and it would be replayed or overturned depending on how TSC wants to handle it. (really though, idk how you'd even do it at this point, that's at least 1 match that would need replayed no matter what.) So, i guess if they want to consistently harass brooky and tsc for the next day individually with their disputes, they could.

Because of how vague the wording is, proving he hacked is only necessary to go beyond tomorrow.

it's not that anyone thinks he was actually ratehacking, dudes. it's that he was running around basically unhittable and froyo didn't (couldn't? wouldn't?) get a sub for him.
Everyone who has played this game for more than a season or two knows how infuriating it is to play against warping opponents and for the admins to be unable or unwilling to force a sub is pretty silly imo.

I said to both you and showstopper that you shouldn't post this, with what you said about tsc being completely untrue. The razer admins didn't really make any decision about what was going on, and after 1 hour of your team and froyo going back and forth with each other about the issue without resolving it, I had to make a decision to end it. At this point you posted this to call out tsc specifically for something you knew he was not a direct cause of.
EDIT: This is not to say the tournament overall did not have any problems, it certainly could've been shorter overall, better scheduled, etc. These problems will be fixed in the future.

Alright so this is also ma3las fault then. The point is that the wrong decision was made and I will continue to argue that point. Tsc was the person that we were in direct contact with throughout the tournament so the blame was put on him.
This is also not the first time weve had issues with tsc. We wanted to reschedule an earlier match against mangoes that was not being casted to an earlier date so that it would not delay the tournament. Mangoes agreed and we even had razer staff agree to be available if any issues arised and the only one who had an issue with it was tsc from our POV who forced us to play it on the later default time with 3 ringers. This tournament had SEVERAL issues but the only person we were in direct contact with during the entire tournament is tsc.
Then theres the issue of you making decisions for a tournament that you're involved in. Tri is an esea admin and because of this hes not allowed to play in invite. HOLY SHIT I could go on for days about how poorly this was run. If we could go back and do it over again we simply would not have played. Its not worth the problems. Hence why weve decided to not play in a tournament that tsc is in charge of again since hes incapable of making correct decisions.
Bias or no bias. This was a shitshow.

to add on to nick's post, why was LB semi-final and UB final scheduled on saturday at 5pm pst and UB final and grand final on sunday? Why not just move them to sunday and monday which are more regularly scheduled days people can actually show up to? It didn't seem like there was a rush to finish the tournament seeing as how it was dragged on for like a month, why was there no possibility for any team to reschedule if both teams agree?

I could even understand if they didnt want the tournament to be delayed, but not being allowed to reschedule to an earlier date when it doesnt affect production/casting and both teams agree doesnt make any sense.
