last I checked, there's some several-million ppl signed up for the beta at the same time (blizzard says 7 million but that's not taking into account multiple emails from the same ppl so ehh)
folks on reddit especially are way too pissy about it, how does anyone expect a company to cater to single randos when there's so many emails to give it out to

Dota 2? CS:GO? There are likely more examples, but it's not like this is the first game that's happened with.
both of those were sequels and people could play the previous game at any time during their development. You can't even compare that to a game like this, were it's one of the first of it's kind. There's no way to get good at it without playing. Look at hearthstone, it's f2p, but the fact is barely any of the current pros or streamers are people who did not get in on early beta. Modern Blizzard games form a status quo fast, as opposed to a cs port or a dota port.
