Waited for blade & soul for years, now that it's finally released in NA, i now moved on and am waiting for Black Desert.......

Might dabble. Pre-purchased Black Desert and played the CBT a bit and that was pretty cool.

nah it's pretty different from the rest, it's hack-n-slash which is already + points for differentiating from point-n-clicks, it's got a great combat system, great movement mechanics and graphics are cool. don't know about the story but there are lot of quests and lot of bosses.

Black desert looks better, but I don't know if it plays the same way

black desert's combat system is like of any other mmo..it looks fancy af but in the essence it's basically point-n-click. you got default attack combinations with the mouse, single-press skills like most mmos in the genre, and the combat is pretty much just ground-based.

there's no denying black desert looks incredible but the combat system is pretty meh in comparison to, idk, dragon nest and even blade & soul per se. if you see the video you can tell how boring it actually is.

I played the blade and soul beta but I cringed so hard I couldn't get past the starting quests. Is it worth playing to get to some kind of good part?

Well is this your first MMO?

You've got to first know what you want to do in it, PvE, PvP. Most MMO's have the content worth playing at the end, called endgame by the players so I'd hesitate a guess that you'd have to level. If it's too cringey for you it's probably just not for you. Only way to describe the art style is it's very asian fantasy with anime type fight scenes, it might just not be to your taste.

I've seen the PvP is pretty good with a decent KO move and that's I think level 20?

The beta was to level 20 I think so a lot of the things aren't known about endgame.

I mean it's f2p so you can always come back to it another time when people have more information. First month of an MMO is always sunshine and rainbows anyway.

Decent game. Sadly the PvE is quite dated, plays like a mmo from 09. The PvP is where B&S really shines, because of the normalized iteams its a lot about skill and not just the random lood drops that you got. That and its free so you don't really lose anything for giving it a try

some ppl are trying to buy darkfall and rehost it
it has rjing and bunnyhopping and aiming so i imagine some of you would find it fun

its also not a korean mmo nor is it "free" nor is it running on a commodity engine

pvp looked interesting in this game from streams i watched of the korean version and that seems to be the main appeal but sadly i just can't get excited for another korean f2p mmo

i've played way too many of these growing up and unless it holds some nostalgia value for me(like tree of savior), i can't bite

Ok I've played it for some hours now, and as a lover of MMORPG's, this felt really clunky and weird, even though people saying how great the movement and combat is, I didn't feel it at all. Didn't give a shit about the characters either.. I was quite let down by this game if I'm honest, I was even considering buying the beta package before it got released and now I'm really glad I didn't, not a game for me.

I just got a mail from google saying they blocked an attempt to login to my account from South-Korea, is this just harmless and likely to do with making an account, or should I just change my email pass?

i'd change it just to be sure (and enable 2 factor authentication in the google security center if you have a smartphone)

are the wait times usually this bad in mmos

They're increasing server capacities and adding more serverss.
But yeah, rn it's sucky

This is the first mmorpg I've played, and I must say I'm very pleased with the ease in which I was able to learn the basics. Casting is very fluid and fantastically fun, haven't tried the /melee/ classes yet. The character customization is great, no complaints on the movement front either.

Okay, so I ended up just skipping the start cinematic when I was crashing, but now I'm just getting constant dc errors.

I quite literally get 30 seconds into play time then my game disconnects. THE BEST THING is that when it disconnects, the whole game closes!
