Consistently used valve-auto until one time my pocket went around the pillar in river on gully and the beam just dropped off of him. Only important because it was a solouber and we then both died. Now click to hold.

How is that effective for anything? You're healing one guy, then have to hold M1 to look at another person without healing them? How is that any less brainwork than clicking once and having a person leashed, even if they run around a corner which is probably their own fault if it results in their death?

I had a broken mouse where click and hold would let itself go.. ever since I've used valve autoheal without any problems tbh. but I don't play a lot of medic so maybe I just never noticed a big difference..

I use inverted heal because I can start healing people as soon as I'm in reach of them without having to hold down the button to make sure I heal them as soon as possible. It's really the least stressful way to play when your medigun is basically looking for targets on its own.

As someone else said I personally use hold and click as there is no delay when switching targets and using the auto heal just feels odd to me when switching back from hold and click.

I don't think so. I usually end up holding M1 anyway even with valve autoheal enabled unless I know I won't be switching heal targets for a while, like building with a scout or something.
