UPGRADE SUPER EDITION SEASON PASSSSSSSSSS YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA
in the enable/disable sections you literally have both sections commented out
did you change anything at all or is it just a straight cut and paste job
did you change anything at all or is it just a straight cut and paste job
I turned on some special codes for higher graphics and some DirectX 9 glitches fixed and with some special bits in misc, and it allows you to customize most graphic settings in the options without it reseting, and I have them commented out because you are supposed to be able to choose what you want enabled or disabled or just leave it be to have everything enabled my default unless someone edited the config file itself in cfg.
To clarify, the way those "special codes" work is they override a previously set value, meaning that if you want people to switch over to your config instead you're going to have to offer some kind of instructions on how to choose what they want. If they just "leave it be" the settings will stay the same from either default TF2 or whatever config they were last using.
On a side note, some kind of benchmark or something that substantiates using a config that is this visually cluttered would be great.

Well shit, that might be something good to include in your post lol.
Look, I somewhat appreciate that you are putting some effort into this, but right now it's kind of just pointless and a bit of a mess as most people are not going to use your config since you give no decent reason, differences, benchmarks, and other information about it. Just like GoofyGorilla said, benchmarks would be great, and even screenshots. I think the best thing to do honestly is to add up Comanglia and get some config mentoring or something so that way you can actually learn more about these "special codes". Then afterwards, you can make your ONE and ONLY megathread about your config, differences, screenshots, benchmarks, and etc.
I'm not going to try to discourage you cause I think it's great that there is a new person in the community that wants to help with configs and that we will continue to have these kind of people in the future. Ever since Chris left, I still feel a void in my heart.

I appreciate your post. I will soon may take some screens, however not this second cause i recently reset my PC and need to reinstall everything because I did some spring cleaning on my PC, but I like your ideas. :)

So how do you think so far?
That wasn't a very intensive benchmark, as we have no idea under what conditions that frame rate was grabbed from. By benchmarking, I was referring to following the directions in this thread. If I were you I'd run the benchmark several times on different configs as well, making sure to sanitize your game as much as possible by running a different config before executing the other frame rate booster configs that has the settings created by putting -default in your launch options. You can do this by putting "host_writeconfig derp full" into your console when in -default game.
UPDATE! Enabled Shadows, Gibs, Ragdolls, and Facial Features by default.

why? don't these make your fps worse? do you have any benchmarks showing the effects of these settings?

if you would just benchmark every time you made any changes it would make 100% more sense than what you're doing right now.

This is supposed to be a FPS/Graphics config, this enables a bit of graphics, there is options to disable these if wanted in the config. Not trying to sound like a bitch.

aren't all of those things enabled in the game by default??
also not trying to sound like a bitch but this doesn't make sense

Well if you had previous settings that turned them off commenting them out it won't change anything.
GoofyGorillaIf they just "leave it be" the settings will stay the same from either default TF2 or whatever config they were last using.
Yeah... I probably should reconsider this entire thing... If anything my old one was better. Just wanted to make a config that boosts frames but keeping everything look nice and crap and update every once and a while to keep everything running good, but the chance of that happening now is probably slim to none. I would still probably TRY to help out with these kind of things.
Alright, so if you really want to start fresh, before you get back to the drawing board, I would like to offer my two-cents that I have gathered from reading your threads, what people have said in them, and what I've observed about the creation of config content. If you don't want to read, that's fine, you do you!
To start off, you should probably know that the reason people are having such a hard time understanding where you're coming from is that the configs have the same exact appearance in both organization and visuals. In reality, this wouldn't be a problem if you stated it was just a combination of a bunch of different configs you've researched. The optimal word here being research, meaning you would put the effort forth and really dug deep into the configs to see which settings actually give the best results. This will require a lot of benchmark testing on your part, just follow the directions I sent you and you'll be fine. Just remember to provide the benchmarks as a part of your post for your final config. If you would like a more solid system to benchmark with, as I see your computer is a little on the whimpy side, you can add me and I'll run the benchmark test on my system.
At the end of the day, you started off with neutral credibility in those who were going to use your config, but when you started making more threads and trying to optimize your config, people started to wonder why you kept making threads, considering the idea that people think that comanglia's thread is the most optimal (his configs provide the better frame rate consistency and proof to back this up in most cases). To fix this, you will need to create literature for your config that is both easy to digest and different from everyone else's config threads.
tl;dr, work on your grammar and punctuation when you post, and explain everything you do with your contigs with solid undeniable proof.
Good luck, and I truly hope you can make a solid contribution to the way we can make our broken, unoptimized game run smoother!

I am just gonna relax a little bit from this cause there is a lot on my mind and I need to let it out a bit, because I have been doing this crap all week.
Dude don't let people discourage you. Just make this thread slightly more organised and it should be fine.
I ain't letting it discourage me, just my head right now is filled with shit right now that I need to get cleared, there is still better things out there.
