Was just reading up on some of the ways people eat their steaks (I was looking at Pittsburgh rare specifically) and thought I'd ask you all the simple question: how you like your steak?
That's an open question - you can specify cut, doneness, whether you like any specific sauces or seasonings, grilled or pan-seared or sous vide; whatever. I'm just curious.
I was a vegetarian for a long while due to stupid reasons so I haven't had as much steak as many of y'all probably have, but I like anything medium rare with a decent crust. No sauce or gravy, just salt and pepper.

Any answer is acceptable except if you order it well done

Grilled medium to medium rare, well done is a horrible way to eat meat. The way my mother always prepared them was using a creole rub. And I do the same since creole is 10/10 on practically anything.

Lol :D.. Like I told uberchain yesterday:
Depends on the cut and the content of inter/intramuscular fat and collagen.
Although its not the most perfect doneness for all steaks, medium rare usually yields good results. The doneness definitions can be a bit vague though; I prefer speaking in terms of exact temperatures (medium rare is 56-57°C for me).
Best way to cook is reverse sear or sous vide, unless your steak is really thin.

Medium rare. Favourite cut is probably ribeye, has really nice marbling. Done in a searing hot pan. Once the steak is nearly done I like to throw in some butter, crushed garlic and rosemary and baste the steak until the butter browns. Not normally one for steak sauces but if I'm in the mood i'll deglaze with red wine, balsamic vinegar and chicken stock and reduce that down

Then if he doesnt eat steak then why post in the thread? I dont think anyone would care if it was some sort of vegan steak or anything.

McDonald's doesn't actually microwave the lunch sandwiches at all.
Rare typically sometimes medium rare. Cut depends on my mood and very basic salt/pepper seasonings preferred. A1 is only useful if you are trying to eat charcoal.

I thought medium was good, but then I realized there was medium rare. Not too much seasoning.
Edit: Seasoning is good, but it can't mask the flavor of the steak.
