How is overwatch competitive at high levels?

Also, major gratz to 2 of my favourite tf2 players for finding success.

SDB as in Shadowburn, the guy that begged for money for a new computer and left the community after? People really went mental for the guy for a few airshots

Tame_ImpalaHow is overwatch competitive at high levels?

The circle jerk is even worse than TF2, if you played in beta = you will be considered good even if you're trash (plenty of examples). Imo it feels like the only innovative players are ex-invite TF2/Moba/other reject games players while the CS players and Quake approach the game in a wrong way kinda (let's see who can aim better and tunnel vision). Nice to see that overall ex-TF2 players get to finally show up their skills and are good at it, in other news it looks like ESL is trying to monopolize the market already by throwing money out of nowhere.

Drama is levels above TF2, teams are pretty much recycling through sponsors like no tomorrow, cutting players weekly, etc. E.G.: If you beat a "top" team in one single scrim, you get offered a sponsorship on a plate by random orgs who want to pay you to stream ranked on twitch and then the org will demand you cut players/let the org lead your team or they drop the sponsorship.

Edit: Forgot to mention, some players get picked up (offered jobs/positions) solely because of their connections to sponsors and/or twitch fame so they give exposure to the team, not because they might be a good fit to the team. All in all, if your name is Star or Huk for example, you get to cast ESL Gamescom without a single drop of casting experience or in-depth knowledge of the game. Watch the VOD of Gamescom Day 1 and you will see what I mean, trash talking TF2 live (the game that literally got you where you are) must be the proper way to approach your audience. Just watch the fucking VOD and stop asking me for timestamps I don't care, Deman is a caster there too so anything is possible in ESPORTS.

I don't have any time stamp, I randomly woke up hearing it on stream and fell back asleep soon after having a good laugh at twitch chat calling him out on being a TF2 youtuber. Whatever, good for him that he at least got something out of TF2 and made it there through some miracle.

idk man when star_ made tf2 youtube videos he seemed like a pretty nice guy. he never claimed to be a tf2 god or anything he just played the game and talked about stuff, i really enjoyed his commentaries. it's a real shame that he doesn't like tf2 anymore but w/e

I watched a lot of the stream and the only thing I remember star saying about tf2 is that it was where he came from and why he was hoping for harbleu to win, and said obviously he doesn't play it anymore but he has the tf2 blood in him with harbleu but I'm pretty sure he didn't shit talk tf2 and if anything he said good things about it. feel free to prove me wrong though.

i honestly found stars youtube videos funny and entertaining, he definitely didn't claim to be some god of tf2 and i'm happy he's found happiness in working with esl (even though they're probably just using him to get publicity)

I've watched about 7 hours of footage from ESL Atlantic and think the casting is great. Quite professional IMO.

How can you watch 7 hours of overwatch? Unless it's like over the span of a week

That was a while ago when silly medokusaii decided to cut half of FaZe (including evokje) a month back. Those players had a lot of potential. Since then, they haven't found anybody else. Its rip mendo more like.

star maybe be le youtube famouse and technically underqualified but regardless his analysis was coherent and easily on par with any other notable esports analyst in both content and delivery. you can be salty that he got picked because of the fanbase or you can recognise that he's actually really good at the job anyway

I don't think tf2 is what made him so successful on youtube. If he were to make videos of as high a quality as he did for tf2 for a more popular game like League of legends or something he would probably be even more successful. He doesn't owe tf2 anything and you certainly shouldn't be salty when people move on to bigger and better things.

The guy who whispered his own teammates shit about his other teammates. Surely FaZe will be a great and honorable team. :^)
