keep the news posts whenever a roster changeup happens just to have something to link on reddit or when people keep asking "why isnt lansky on froyo????" 2 years later
those things are fine for people who dont follow the scene closely and theyre a good official look for the community.
i really dont feel like having both will delegitimize anything or take the value away from the official news posts
its not like the news posts were the actual first place for the info posted to break anyway, thru no fault of the writers.
you cant make an article for every leaked pastebin, hilariously lopsided scrim result, or request to contemplate suicide. those things are the lifeblood of the tf2 community.

at least if you're going to be making articles do them for all of the roster transactions
for example last season this article was made when wrech stepped down but for some reason when we picked up split (and then connor stepped down/was replaced by hellbent) there was nothing
imo if you're only going to partially cover things there isnt really any point in doing these sorts of write ups in the first place

We do aim to do articles for all roster transactions, but we didn't do as well as we should have last season. We will step up our efforts this upcoming season and cover everything that happens.

If everyone wants the invite happenings thread, why would you not allow it? as pamphlet said, there is nothing wrong with having a thread for rumors/jokes AND official articles written about roster transactions. The main reason to disallow the thread is so the articles can be the official source...but the articles can and would still be the official source, as pamphlet said, again. I don't really care for the thread, but I honestly can't think of one logical reason why it would be nuked if every player who visits this site loves those threads.
I initially wrote this without remembering what phamplet said. I then realized that everything I wrote is exactly what phamplet thinks..and everyone else
