I saw your post in the mentoring section of the community fortress forums but I didn't realize that your thread was from 2009 or something lol. You were pretty cool about it and said that you were too busy to help me out as a full time mentor but that you would go over a demo with me. I would ask you maybe once a week or so if you werent busy but you usually were. After about a month or so you deleted me and that made me really sad. My favorite scout deleted me on steam because i was probably being really annoying ;_; I then basically did the gayest thing ever and told Tri to focus you at LAN for being a meanyface. I was joking, but it was still really stupid and immature. I hope the invite illuminati hasn't installed any secret skill-lowering software on my computer.

Agreed.

We get like 70 newbies at these things at any given time (probably like 150-200 over the course of a night). If 10 of you go to tf2mix, boom, you get to PUG a lot faster and you can play as many as you want. Newbie mixes have a huge demand, usually I can only let someone who is there for 2.5-3 hours one or two PUGs.

Why not just go to tf2mix where you can PUG and let someone who's never played a game of 6v6 TF2 before play a couple at least to the point where they have a good chance at winning a game.

I had a few people taunt me or type something silly after they killed me, which I think it's okay and even funny when they kill me or another coach who has a bunch of experience. I had no problem with this. However, a newbie player taunting another newbie player can be funny, but I can see people taking it personal in a setting where everyone should be trying their best to learn, not trying to brag about how their sick shotgun kill should be known by everyone in the server. Of course, I'm not saying any newbie who taunts is automatically trying to brag, but I think everyone should remain fairly chill and humble between each other when everyone is trying to learn the game better.

It seems to me that the stage when a newbie mix group becomes self-sustaining without constant supervision is exactly when you need to put in loads more effort to move people on to the next level.
