They just didn't know what was going on. They're new to the scene obviously, no reason to be hard on them.

filled in for 1 match on flame's team in s3, playin against tyrone's team back before vhalin got cut, mackey was still called cupcakes and getting marmellized was a thing
don't think i was nervous, only time i can remember being nervous about tf2 was the first time i ever played against real invite players, playing against enigma/carnage was intimidating ;-;
Before vhalin's 40lbs and getting rocket pimped was a legitimate fear to have. When people still voted wo0t best demoman, and elaborating thoroughly on the opponent was still in the distance.

ydyufyffyIt was either 8v8 or Highlander on Badlands versus a team called DJedi. Unlike me, their demo actually knew what a rollout was. I don't think the match went that well for us.
I remember that game seeing as I was there. I'm pretty sure Megu roped you into our mess of a team because they didn't think I could play demo or something. Sorry about that! I'm pretty sure we got our shit stomped, too, yeah.
Anyway, my first match ever was in TWL 7v7 on fucking Warpath or Well or something back in early 08. First ESEA game was when I was on the Spacebots though: http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=stats&d=match&id=1653505
A 5v6, nice.

I figured the most nervous you'd be about tf2 is talking to tf2 gamer gurls

I had joined a team halfway through the season. We lost 5-0 and I was easily (at the time) the worst player on the team. Didn't feel so great after that match :/
On a side note, I first read the title as, "Your first kiss?" because your name was right under the title.

I just had my first match ringing on Haunt in UGC iron. It was fucking amazing, seriously the closest match I think I've ever seen (even though it was between two iron teams). We're going to try to get it casted by Kip.
First match was ringing for a friend in ETF2L. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PLAY IN A LEAGUE WITH 100 PING. Did I mention I was playing Scout
My first ever match in TF2 was also my first ever time playing the game.
I knew a load of players from TFC who invited me to come and play with them, and I just finished the download as the game was starting.
It was a game playing for mambo number 5 (who after the game became Team Infused) vs 4kings (The team that went on to win season 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 of ETF2L). The map was cp_well, and my instructions were to follow the other scout (I was scout) and shoot what he was shooting.
I don't think I did too badly, but we did lose the game. I just didn't know what all of the calls were. Luckily, CP_well is a very linear map, and some parts are very familiar to the TFC map, so I didn't really get lost.
Still, it was fun enough for me to keep playing the game.

First competitive game played was a pug with some people from RUGC midwest. I was playing demo and barely had an idea of what I was doing. The other demo was xalox.
UGC Highlander S6 week one on Badwater. We played 7 v 9 with 3 subs because assholes ditched. No one on the team had played comp before, we'd never scrimmed and at the time I only had 20 hours in TF2. We used a group Steam call for comms.
We didn't cap a single point.

I don't remember my first match, but I do remember my first match that was shout casted. I was on my first team, 2shot/shadow gaming, which consisted of zambino/dl - scouts, die/sim - soldiers, buddha - demo, dumah - medic, backups (fox/coach).
It was on cp_well (my fav map to spy on, although this was before I played spy), with leogeo and some other guy casting. We were a mid level team facing another team in similar skill (I forgot which team). The main reason why I remember it is because after the match I immediately went to try to download and watch the cast - to watch the big clutch plays I made, only to find out that leogeo completely missed out on them.
Two notable moments were one time we were defending our 2, and the other team was in yard about to push in. I went sniper and got 3-4 consecutive headshot kills on the other team, so I went to try to watch that in the video cast, and leogeo was focused on our pocket soldier building uber the whole time, and only managed to partially catch the last headshot. The other moment I believe was that the game was at a tie and our team had mid and was battling in their yard, Zambino and I managed to slip behind and backcap their 2nd, and finally their last for the win. When I went to watch the video, the cast was on the yard battle the whole time and leogeo and the other caster were surprised and confused when the game just ended due to backcaps.
That was one of my most memorable games, others being a match against Pandemic where I sorta legitimized playing spy in 6s by repeatedly getting picks on Fragile/Reptile, and random AI vs Xensity matches where fanom warped around everywhere.

My first match was on Warmfront (I think) in 6's UGC Platinum. I played demo for Evict, we lost. I remember them spending several hours before the match practicing rollout only, lol. It wasn't very good, but it was the start of a fun season with awesome guys. I have since separated from the team, but hope to get back on sometime in the future.
