do you think the control point + payload gamemode from Paladins would work in 6s?
You essentially fight for mid then a payload spawns that you must push to the enemy spawn or defend against

Can you read? Overwatch has nothing to do with this.
Siege is really fun in paladins and I'd love to see a mapper make a map for it
I spent fifteen minutes on the over.gg fourms after months of avoiding that scene. I can honestly say I hope tf2 never turns into that shitfest. I'm fine with our own special blend of autism, it has its charm, but at least it isn't overwatch community cringe.

ya ur right if we get a 300k tourney i would just be LIVID
doesnt this have the same problems of payload with a fatkid being made to push or engi constantly except for one midfight
you could replace the payload with A/D but then you get to a slight variation of 5cp >.>
also how exactly does this work does the cart falling back to mid allow it to be pushed by the other team

when u cap the point u get 1 point, if u push the cart all the way u get another point
the cart cant be pushed by the other team if u won the point.
first to 4 points

ok, i get it. i guess this could be interesting if the payload part and timer was pretty short but i dont like the idea of attaching so much value to a single midfight.
It's not really a midfight. It's like A/D where the defending team has time to set up and defend the point, and then if it gets capped the game becomes payload.
No it wouldn't work because it's still payload and doesn't solve the problems that go with it.
paladins payload is fairly interesting because the "push" radius is massive compared to tf2, so the player pushing the payload has a greater ability to move around and enemies can more easily stop the cart from moving, sort of creating mini teamfights centered around the cart whenever multiple people from each team are within range of the cart. making that change alone could make a payload map more viable for a fun competitive map.
oh, its the ow hybrid mode, that makes sense. the op's worded badly.
in that case what fahrenheit said, it's still payload
Paladins Siege mode is not ow hybrid mode.
In Paladins you basically have a midfight for a point that caps pretty slowly so the enemy team has at least 2 tries to get back if they get wiped and if you cap it the payload spawns. For winning "middle" you get 1 point and then for pushing it to the end you get 1 point or if the enemy team stops you from pushing it to the end they get 1 point.
One thing I've noticed is that you can't win by defending, not sure what to think about that yet.
So if you're horrible at these midfights you basically lost because you can't get the last point (First to 4) from defending, only by attacking.
The payload rounds are pretty fast aswell so I'd like to see a map at least trying the concept in TF2

I think it's pretty fair. Otherwise you could just give up mid and go full turtle mode.
I'd personally love to try a similar game mode in TF2 and see how it works.
This would probably be quite interesting, because this gamemode forces you to push.
So this is like Koth + Payload ? If so it sounds really interesting
ive definitely seen a custom map with this concept years ago in tf2. have no idea what it was called though. i dont see any reason why it would not work in competitive 6s.
I love how he worded the title "paladins game mode" to avoid a wave of downvotes due to referencing OW
