Had a great time last year, not sure if I can afford to go this year, but highly recommend going, especially if you're from outside of France because:
1) The staff were extremely helpful and friendly (and were very patient with us for not knowing any French). Seriously without them it would have been really hard work to set up rentals and do almost anything.
2) The Frenchies were friendly, welcoming and a good laugh and generous with their sharing of alcohol and other bad habits.
3) Felt like the French community really wanted you there to help the LAN grow.
4) Beautiful historic city with lots of close-by amenities, Hotels were nearby and so forth.
PCs we rented from Infoshow (Shouted to them and Maxi for arranging it) were good quality as well. I only recommend you don't drive there unless you know how to avoid Toll Roads, between us we probably funded the French motorwat system for the next decade.

Ends being cheapest to fly then get a train.
Gatwick -> Bordeaux goes for about £110-120
Bordeaux -> Potiers Train is £15 each way and takes 2 hours.
