Thought this would be a lot easier for actually collecting data than the argument thread. Question 2 includes the weapons I think were most complained about but you can add your own in the other box

nah with BJ you just get really high with walljumps and spam while taking zero damage
dalakos bar can almost definitely be unbanned because iirc it was only on the list cuz of the bug that let you keep the health buff. its pretty much outclassed by the sandwich.

yeah the dalokohs bar was fixed so that should probably be unbanned. there was a base jumper bug where sentries wouldnt target you, idk if its fixed

The BASE Jumper was unbanned in the first installment of the universal whitelist and immediately rebanned in the amendment just two days later. It isn't getting unbanned again anytime soon.

4 people skipped this question so thats probably 4 more for "None". The Dalokohs Bar should be unbanned and maybe also the Quick Fix and Solemn Vow

9 people skipped this so 9 more votes for "No"
The "other" responses had many suggestions like Iron Bomber, Direct Hit, Gunslinger, Jag, Crossbow. The most voted here were Machina and Vaccinator. Rescue Ranger should be banned

why is sydney sleeper banned I seriously want to know the reasoning behind it

the only currently banned weapon that I've always had a soft spot for is bonk, but I recognize I'm in the minority on that one
the number of people voting to unban the quick fix is frightening tho

why did the quick-fix create so many stalemates? was it uber or faster healing?

I would be in favor of banning the crossbow until it's nerfed - right now you can simply put out far too much healing, and gain far too much uber, from its use. It should be set back to how it was where, yes, you can heal your teammates with it, and sure, build uber from its use, but only be able to fire it once every 20 minutes or so. The problem is that it currently upsets the internal calculus of the game too much - you never have any idea how hurt a player actually is because they can just get an arrow slung at them with the enemy medic sacrificing nothing to make the attempt, not to mention the impact of defensive arrow building (you know the other team is going to push so you arrow build and woops turns out you have uber and their push is boned). Arrows also have the negative effect of allowing players who are "pushed out" of a certain map area to get an arrow and return at near or full health - again with almost no sacrifice on the medic's part.
The rescue ranger is also pretty lame.
Also, never ever unban the quickfix it's awful for everything and everyone.
I don't particularly care about valve. If the game is fun or not is enough for me lol. We shouldn't phrase whitelists as rejecting valve, but simply making valve's product better. Like the ker-trillions of games that are far superior with mods.

YeeHawwhy did the quick-fix create so many stalemates? was it uber or faster healing?
The quicker you can build uber, the more uber v uber stalemates arise. That caused people to use heavies more, too. But the quick fix sucked at being an uber, so it couldn't push against a heavy giving the other team add. But the defending team would get uber so quickly making it hard to push on advantages.

having a permanent height advantage while making everyone look at you is stupid as fuck and should not be unbanned. I really think the rescue ranger has a good spot, still easy to destroy sentries but makes them much more viable and easy to position. This makes sentries more strategic and viable without effecting the flow of the game.
I think unbanning the pomson, dalohks and solemn vow. I read somewhere the quickfix always builds at max rate is that true? that would seem really broken.
Also something to keep in mind, if we give a big fuck you to valve it doesn't really change anything. We can use whatever whitelist we want. But we risk something like the sticky nerf again (volvo you stay away from my gunboats). Valve balances this game for casual, working with valve is in our best interest for the future of the game.

YeeHawwhy did the quick-fix create so many stalemates? was it uber or faster healing?
I believe at the time it ruined the esea grand final the main theory was that it charges too fast not to use it because other mediguns are too slow in comparison, but it's not strong enough to get through sticky traps and very defensive setups leading to never ending stalemates. Anyone remember which esea season it was in?

Quick note about the Solemn Vow:
It allows medics to see the uber percentage of the enemy medic. I don't think it's that big of a deal but a lot of people (including I) were for unbanning the Solemn Vow when the Global whitelist was revealed but I think many of us weren't aware of that at the time.
I'm still all for unbanning it though. Promotes teamwork, rewards medics who maincall, will stop my medics from wm1ing at a scout with the ubersaw.
Sounds nice on paper at least. If it turns out to be aids it can just be banned again the season afterwards. And it will have nowhere near the impact of atomizer/base jumper while it's unbanned

No one's ever building at max rate the entire time. It takes ~1 minute to build an uber usually.
Not to mention, it completely removes the concept of building from the game as you'd always be building at max rate.
EDIT: Made the second point more clear.

Honestly, it would be nice if we used a promod plugin that rebalances weapons for 6s. Shouldn't be too hard to make/maitain since tons of pubs have modified weapons already (x10 servers, vsh servers etc). I don't really see how that would negatively impact our "relationship" with valve, seeing as it's currently nonexistent apart from writing a news post for major lans and distributing medals for leagues. Just tailor the game to be the most fun it can be and stop worrying about valve, it's not like we matter to them, we're only a tiny fragment of the community of a game they don't really prioritize anyway.
If valve ever takes an interest in hosting official tournaments/lans (and I highly doubt they will, since it doesn't look like a source of profit for them) it'll be on their terms using their rules anyway so why stress over it
TF2 is an old game already and the playerbase is diminishing, so the more time goes on, the less likely it is that valve will bother investing money or effort into new things like official tournaments. We're all here because we love playing the game, not because we hope that it'll be the next huge esport, that would be delusional. So imho, it's pointless to sacrifice fun in the name of something that'll never happen.
Don't worry about it, just make sure that you have fun.
